Our local news channels have been reporting live from the funerals of the Fallen solders from the shootings.
They are not inside, but stand out side watching and reporting everything going on. Even going to the cemetery for the burial. They do stay at a distance.
I don't know. It feels wrong some how.

I think that's tacky. If it were my loved one, I wouldn't want to have it on TV. If it's the governor or president who died that's one thing. But these people didn't ask to be put into the spot light like this. Let their families grieve without having to see highlights on the news.

But it just seems wrong to stand and gawk and go on and on about it.

I guess they're trying to share the funeral with all of those who can't be there for the real thing. It's not what I would choose but they're Americas heroes now so I guess it helps for some.

I watched Reagan's funeral on TV. I don't see the issue. He was a great American and the television allowed people who weren't able to be there to pay their respects.
These guys, too, were great Americans and the nation mourns their loss.

I know. It just seems like an intrusion on something very private to me.
I don't know. It seemed strange to hear the reporter say things like "today's events", like it was a sport or something.

I think, in a situation like this, provided they are being respectful, it gives others the opportunity to take part in the funeral even if they can't be there.
