There was a Sealtest store near our house, and that was my favorite. (Sealtest then was a lot like Carvel now, but with counter service and small tables with 2 or 4 chairs, and a LOT of flavors.

Now, I can't eat the peanuts that are a vital part of a banana split. cry

OMG - I only have cream on hand if I'm making a recipe that calls for it. Now I want fettuchini Alfredo. If I gain 10lbs it's your fault! I won't actually make it but gosh it sure sounds good.

Oh they are real. It's walnuts in a light corn syrup. It isn't terribly sweet.

Kind of like butter pecan icecream.

You know those cinnamon candies that look like peppermints?

Ok. You need about 10 of them pulverized to dust.
A jar of marishino cherries.
vanilla ice cream
milk.

In a blender scoop about 4 ounces of ice cream, pour in enough milk to almost cover the ice cream. Add two cherries and a teaspoon of the juice and the pulverized candies.

Blend to make the best milkshake ever.

I use to make them when we Co branded with A&W.

Which is what I usually do, but in this case there was an entire thread dedicated to bashing us and a couple if its members.

They start one every couple months. If you call them on it, there is always some excuse why it's ok to bash people from over here, while simultaneously pretending to be above that sort of nonsense.

In fairness- I do post there occasionally, but I get frustrated and annoyed every time they go on TG rant or bash other members from here or other boards (which wouldn't be a problem, except that they also post about how much better they are, which is hypocritical).

We found out this afternoon that they are closing down Gs part of the company. They will close end of March, and he will get a retention bonus if he stays. After that, a years severance. So we will be OK, but I will miss working with him...:(

And I agree. It's gossiping, which is beneath us.

All packed and ready for our trip. We leave tomorrow, fly in to Philly to meet up with Mom, Dad, and DD, then from Philly to Dublin! I can't wait! We found DH's grandmother's ashes and packed them so we can let her go in Ireland. Her mother was born there and it was always her dream to go but she never made it. When she died we buried almost all of her ashes, but kept a small amount. We let some go in the fountain at St Peter's square in the Vatican (she took the kids to church every Sunday) and the rest we kept for Ireland! Can't wait! That sounds kind of tacky, but we are sending her off Irish wake style. She died years ago so it isn't raw for us anymore.

Awwwwwww thank you! His name is Neil and he has five kids. Of course, everyone there (almost) is Catholic. Neil and his wife Avril are both nurses in the NHS. Neil is a retired chef who turned to nursing. Stop by and he'll whip you up a gourmet meal!
