I honestly dont' know any 16 yr olds using ITunes. Most kids I know have found a way to download music for free.

You can listen to it for free. But you can't own it for free. If you want the new song by Beyoncé to be able to listen to on demand, you need to buy it. You can stream it on other services but you have to wait for it to come on, just like the radio.

I am telling you what the reality is but if you want to protest, then go ahead.

my 5 kids use iTunes mainly but do sometimes listen to free streaming.  with iTunes it does not take data, and we are rural

We are rural as well so the kids aren' supposed to use data.  There are some apps that let you get free music but you have to get theirs ads or something.  Itube and MP rocket and some other ones.

 Depends on who you're asking...biggrin

They're all nice, pretty much, until you disagree... biggrin

Back on topic:  I wanted/needed a gift today or I would have saved some $ by using my Amazon Prime.  I just got back from Best Buy, they had these on sale for $28.99:

I hope I did ok, I want to develop a good relationship, if possible, with a 16 year old girl who has emotional baggage.

That's a great find! I'm sure she will love it, and will appreciate that you thought of her.

HM. Can I offer a bit of advice? Take it or leave it.

16 yr old girls can be fickle but they can also see a genuine desire to be friends.

Gifts are nice. I am sure she will love it.

But let the real gift be getting to know one another. Be someone she can trust. Someone she can look up to. Someone she can vent to.

But don't be a push over either.

According to R's daughter:  "Boys are SO immature!  I'm planning to finish college and get a good job before I start getting serious about boys."

Very true.  Ten years older at the time to be precise.

Does anyone really date at 16? I mean yeah I went out on a few dates but never any one person for a long time.

It was more socializing with friends than dates.

I was dating at 16. Started at 14, but it got a lot easier once I had a driver's license and access to the self-propelled couch. I mean, car.

Started dating my ex at 16. He wasn't my first boyfriend.

Around here most kids start dating at about 16. I wouldn't say it's serious dating. They'll go see a movie or go hang out together somewhere.

Maybe I was a late bloomer. My kids too. I mean they have had "dates" to school dances since entering high school.

Haha... Caitlyn purposefully went with boys from other schools so she didn't have to deal with them at school.

She's a lot like me. Not sure if that's good or bad.

I was a mother at 17, so yeah, I was dating at 16. My parents had no clue though. I drove to meet him...
