To take a gift to this wedding. I already bought two things for the shower. At the shower she said she needed to buy thank you notes. I told her I still had three packages of them left over from my wedding and I'd bring them. I know that's not an appropriate gift so do I need to swing by the store and get a gift certificate to somewhere? Or am I just over thinking this? The only weddings I've been to I didn't attend the shower ahead of time.

Oh, and I settled on a summer sun dress that is strapless. It's blue and white but it has a little blue sweater with cap sleeves so you can wear it over it and it looks more appropriate.

I don't know. People will tell you a shower gift is different from a wedding gift. I'd say do what you feel is right. It was a last minute invite so I'm sure it's ok if ya don't. Etiquette books say you have a year to give a wedding gift.
Okay. Maybe I'll just wait until the next time I'll see her. They're big into hunting and her sister was saying there were a bunch of things they wanted from the sporting goods store but most of them were higher priced. She said if we wanted we could do a gift certificate. I think next time I'm in downtown I'll get her one.
