 Haha! Years ago when I had a 2nd job as a chat moderator I would play around and mute people for fun. I only did it to people who wouldn't get all worked up. Of course I'd take it off after a minute or so. I did have to mute for real sometimes. Those people were usually trolls who signed up just to come in the chat rooms to be jerks.
