Who's going out for tax free weekend? Couldn't catch me dead at the stores today. Although DH did let me go shopping and spend some of my half off coupons. I bought everything online though! I'm getting up in a few short hours to check out a new farmers market. I scoped it out today. It doesn't look that big but they promise a lot of different stuff. The last one we went to had only okra and plenty of entertainment and food trucks. I thought it was going to be a real farmers market. So I'm going to a new one. The plus is it's a few minutes from my house.

I'm on call. And the ac is broken. No clue how I'm going to manage getting someone to the house while I might be called in at any moment. It's supposed to be 91 and sunny and humid. Yay me.
No tax free shopping here. I don't think anyway...maybe I should look into that!
Going grocery shopping. Having my parents over tomorrow for a cookout to celebrate the new back yard. Run to Home Depot today to pick up soaker hoses, and to bank to deposit money into the boys' accounts. We thought it would be good for them to visit a bank and learn about banking. Don't know if they'll show the boys the vault or not. My father was a banker so I got to see all that growing up.
Supposed to be a nice day today. Maybe I will even get to enjoy some of it.
Schoolwork needs to be done. Two big final projects are due Monday. Then it looks like I will have two finals (maybe three) and by next Friday, I will be done for this semester and will have two weeks off.
Hives are driving me crazy. While I have an official diagnosis, I have to wait for approval from the insurance co for the treatment. That could take a few weeks. In the mean time, the hives have spread to cover about 80% of my body. I am afraid to say where they are not because of the rate they are spreading. Before it was mostly on my upper legs with a few on my calves and back. Now, so far, my face and feet are spared.
I have been up, out, and come home again. I went to the little farmer's market near me. It's in my own town. I only wish I had found it sooner. Their potted plants were on sale. (The grandma gardens plants and thins them out from time to time.) I got a decent sized aloe vera plant for fifty cents and another cactus with some herbs around it for another fifty cents. The peaches didn't look that great even though I wanted some so badly. I got a bunch of tomatoes, tons of wonderful looking corn on the cob, a cantaloupe, and some squash. It was a small town farmers market but so friendly. They had some home made jellies and jams and salsa's. And some honey. I didn't buy any. The people were really nice. They run it out of their home basically. All the produce is locally grown and organic. I'm not really into all the organic stuff but apparently there is a lady with cancer in town and she swears by their stuff. All in all, it was worth it.
I did talk to them about the farmers market downtown. They said they went to see what the competition was like and their opinion was much like mine. There were way too many food trucks, bands (singers), and businessmen peddling their wares. Very few actual farmers selling produce. So I accomplished my one goal for today!

No. Have to wait until Monday. I'm on call so I can't get a service person here since I may have to go in. I might go sleep in a call room at the hospital.
At the beach. CT is extremely pricey due to the tax structure. $140 for groceries I can get at home for $90. Ah well it is vaca after all. Missing my friend who wanted to come!

And no, I would not be caught dead near a mall today. Raises my blood pressure to even think about it. Add to that out county fair started last night and the town in a frickin parking lot. I went to see the babies, stopped at Krystal for dinner and now Im going to watch Teen Mom and drink...

Speaking of shopping, what do you all view as "reasonable" costs of merchandise? Obviously I have teens that want to shop at Hollister, American Eagle, etc. My son wanted a pair of Nike sneakers for school. They were $100. He is very good with shoes and his last pair lasted him over a year or so. He really only wears his sneakers, has a pair of dress shoes and then we buy him a good pair of basketball shoes. He isn't much for shoes so I dont' mind that so much. DD is into basketball so I will buy her a good pair of Nikes. But, then when she wants other shoes, I do make her shop around a bit more because she wants more pairs and variety.
Now I need to stay awake for 3 more hours. My brain/bod think it's 2am!
WELCOME BACK! I love your avatar.

They're shoes are usually about $60+. They get one pair a year. Thankfully they take really good care of their shoes.
Caitlyn buys her own now.
I don't pay more than I have to for clothes. We shop at WalMart. I don't buy names. I don't see the point. My kids are clean, pressed, and do not have holes.
They have never asked for names.

I don't mind paying for quality, and good shoes are worth it, IMO. It sounds reasonable to me, since you say they take care of them.
Although, I would still try and hit a sale or use a coupon :)

I blame you for the pants thing. You would have noticed right away and told me so, in public. Then we would have gone shopping. But such is life. I wore my pants inside out all day but had a great time!

$100 is reasonable if they last a year.
yep $100 is not unreasonable.
