He's surging in the polls because people like to be entertained by clowns. They like going to the circus, but wouldn't bring a clown home with them.

They taste funny.

I don't even know what that means.

It means she's hoping if she calls him enough names we might all change our minds about him as POTUS.

Juat out of curiousity, why didn't you make the same response to the poster who said this?

"He's a joke. Republicans need an actual candidate, not this useless idiot."

I'll answer that.  I ignored it because I believe that Dona is young and having kids around that age, I get that mindset.  Heck when I was in my teens/20's, I thought I was a Democrat.  I didn't come into my own politically until my 30's.  So I chose to scroll on by that comment.

And honestly, your comment about clowns, the circus and eating clowns was just pretty much stupid and that's why I responded to it. Maybe you thought it was clever? It just didn't make any sense to me, when we all seemed to be having an intelligent conversation for the most part.

eta: You come across like you don't care for the majority of posters around here...  so I took it like a pathetic attempt at a jab.  I could be wrong. hmm

LOL Thanks.  My vote is with whoever will make my knee spasms go away!  I would like to hear the candidates address that.

Of course. The Cirque du Soleil was a huge failure and never got off the ground. Nobody liked it.

Um ok... but that wasn't the type of circus I was referring to.  Although if you want to go in that direction, I thought Zumanity sucked.  Worst show I've ever seen.  The whole thing pretty much gave me the willies.

That's perfectly OK. I think Kid Rock sucks. Aint differences of opinion great?

Then I think he's my man!  biggrin  You think he could throw in some new knees?  I mean that's what I really need.  Then I wouldn't have pain and spasms!

Trump is diluting the Republican pool.

Along with all the other wannabe candidates.

And for the record, I love the circus. Clowns can be fun.

Robots, on the other hand, are evil.

Robots? Nah, not if they follow Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics.

Here's the thing, the Presidency and the U.S does not exist in a vacuum. Can you imagine Merkel wanting to work with a man who can't express his feelings of contempt for another woman (notice how he doesn't use terminology like this when he dptalks about men he disagrees with or who call his actions into question)?

I am not an America. Apologist. I hate the fact that the rest of the world and our own apologists like to call us out as the worse travelers or egotists.

But the fact is, we cannot demand respect for our "way of life" if our President can't even drum up enough respect for his own citezenry.

And his response to her question is a good showing of how he would respond to a real crisis. Do you want that?

I agree that Ms Kelly shouldn't apologize for, in her words, "good journalism". To need to apologize for something she hasn't done would be ludicrous.

I sure am. But I am looking for someone who treats the process with the dignity and respect it deserves. If he can't handle some difficult questions from a news reporter who shares his ideology how is he going to handle a world power who does NOT share his ideology - and that world leader may have a finger on the button. News reporters don't.

I appreciate his "say anything" attitude. But I don't think he is taking the process seriously. He needed to answer her questions.

Ok, but why is her 'process" the right one?  It's the process that has been followed for a long time, and our political system has been screwed up for a long time.  Perhaps it is time to change that process.

He should have used the venue to discuss what he wanted to discuss and to actually give the voters some insight into his policy ideas instead of complaining that the questions weren't to his liking. I have a newsflash for him - the questions will never be to his liking. It's his job as a candidate to take the question that was asked and transition it to an answer he WANTS to give. If he wanted to talk about bees in Hawaii instead of his comments towards Rosie ODonnel he could have used the opportunity to do so. "You know, as I look back on how I handled myself in the situation with Rosie, I am reminded of the bees in Hawaii..."  It isn't difficult. The fact that he chose to be outraged and act a fool is troublesome. He failed to keep his cool with a reporter, how the heck can we trust him to keep his cool with Kim Jong what's his name in North Korea?! Kim has nukes for heavens sake, I don't want him getting pissed off, he is crazy enough to use them!

Mainly because no one ask what was meant by that statement.

I went to a Cirque du Soleil show once. I don't get the draw. I thought it was creepy. I never went to a Circus, because I don't like clowns. Or freaks.

That eating statement was creepy, IMO.

I'm still not sure about Trump.
