Good point, Nobody Just Nobody. Imagine how happy the school kids that love their flag will be now! Also imagine who they will blame that happiness on.

Yeah, THAT kid is in for a lovely time in school now!  I don't even have to imagine.  I've lived some of those days.  "You're mom did WHAT?"

And another thing. It doesn't say one thing about how the KID felt. This is all about what the MOM felt. What if the kid wasn't bothered by it at all? This is high school because the kids are driving. This mom is still helicoptering. I feel sorry for that kid.

The local Schools should be able to decide what is best for them. Even if the kid was upset, so what? Doesn't mean everyone suddenly has to change everything because someone doesnt' like it. If the School WANTED to ban it, they could. I think they just don't want to. But, I think they are just kind of hiding behind the "oh we can't ban this" mantra which simply isn't true. Our School code prohibits a lot of things.

They possibly could, but it's a fine line.  Schools have been sued, and they lost, when they've gone too far.   Whether or not this would survive a court challenge can't be known at this point, but they may not want the hassle and expense of finding out.

Well, I could agree with you--but then we'd both be wrong.

And, the kid who is uncomfortable can also file a lawsuit husker.  Sorry, you can't run your school living in fear of lawsuits.

I'm leaning more and more in favor of school uniforms.

?????  You were talking about banning this--so the lawsuit would be by those who couldn't display it.

I don't care either way. The School can take either position. I just take the position I think is right on my Board and if someone wants to sue so be it. They could get suedon either position. That's my point. Try actually reading my posts.

I did read yours--and I responded specifically to the part where you said they "could" ban it if they wanted to.  Apparently you didnt read mine.
