I had fallen (slipped down the lowest step of 3) a number of summers ago. My ankle did hurt and swell, but I had a friend drive me to my chiropractor, as I thought it might just need adjusting. Wrong! A couple days later, another friend saw me walking on it (using a cane) and said I should get it X-rayed. Sure enough, it was fractured and required a cast. It was my right leg so I couldn't drive. I only lived 1 mile from where I worked, so my boss agreed to drive me to and from work for a couple of weeks. You should have seen me at my desk, with my leg propped up on the surface for elevation. Looked pretty awkward!
