Our policy was 10 year background checks. Our vendors were required to do a 10 year BC. We were required to verbally ask "have you been convicted of a felony in the past 10 years" as well as having the question on the paper/computer application.
A felony didn't mean an automatic rejection but we were forbidden to hire anyone with theft, assault or domestic violence on their record.
Your experience may be an anomaly based on industry.

I think you're more right on Outlaw. In the medical field they ask if you've EVER been convicted. And no, they won't hire you if you've ever been convicted of certain crimes. Drugs and assault being two of the biggest.
It may not matter to a fast food restaurant. Or even to a factory that makes underwear.

At Target, all applications stated "have you ever been convicted of a felony?" That's right, EVER. If you just wanted to stock shelves, a felony prevented that. In fact, some misdemeanors did too, if they involved fighting or stealing. So, yeah, I don't think your info is very up to date Lily.

Applications have changed a lot in the last few years. If you haven't been working then you probably don't realize that.

She didn't use that as a way to validate her view. She used it specifically to answer the question why she gets to judge. Now that's the second and last time I'm explaining it to you. If you still don't understand, you're being deliberately obtuse.
But that's still BS--because people with a different view can also "judge".
She is saying that because she thinks this way and is a "potential juror" that all "reasonable" people must agree with her--and they don't--so it's complete BS.

Yes - most reasonable people agree with me, Husker.
You don't know that, at all, and have NOTHING to base that on.

Well, I could agree with you--but then we'd both be wrong.
They said they have new updates that they are not releasing. This is what they did release.
ODESSA, Texas -
We're getting our first look at the mother and grandmother who were arrested for leaving six children alone at a home in Odessa.
One of those children, a 5-week-old baby girl, was found unresponsive.
18-year-old Ember Lajuanie and 37-year-old Rendi Lajuanie are charged with six counts of child endangerment.
If convicted, they could face up to 20 years behind bars.
On Tuesday, Odessa Police say the two women left five children at a home in the care of a 10-year-old.
An emergency call was made for the baby when it was discovered she wasn't breathing.
The infant was flown to Lubbock in critical condition.
There's still no word on what caused the baby to stop breathing.
