22 years old; in the US Army and extracted (one shattered and picked out) by a US Army Dentist. What an experience.... But at least it did not cost anything. LOL
What? Sorry. I completely disagree. Give the heavy stuff at night.
Lily the heavy stuff is so much more addictive than what you and I and even our adult children received. It's bad.
Hydrocodone, when taken responsibly, is not going to have her addicted.
Taking it at night only is not setting up an addiction.
And when I had mine out, and I had that dry socket, it didn't do anything to stop the pain.
My point is, carefully using to prevent pain for a few nights is not creating an addict.
Chances are, tonight, and maybe tomorrow night, will be the last 2 times she needs it.
Of course, she isn't my child, LL has to make that call, but if it were mine, I'd give it to her.

If she's in that much pain, she may have dry socket. That was by far the worst pain I've ever experienced except for back labor.
To me, it was worse than back labor.
Literally blinding pain.
It was horrible .

And it is the kind of pain that you
can't "disassociate" from, like if
you have a broken arm, you can
tell your body that you stop
feeling at your shoulder.
Poor kiddo. Hope she feels much
better in the morning.
I don't think she has dry sockets, it's not that bad. I'm giving her the good stuff at night, and making her use the Motrin during the day. The doc only gave us 12 of the good stuff and she has taken 3 over the course of the week - I think she'll be fine.

That's why I suggested the ibuprofen/Tylenol combination.
And taking it at night a few times does not an addict make.
Is she better today? Seems the 4th day, things start getting better.

I haven't talked to her yet today. DH took the day off to spend with her and his mother, who is here for the week and they went out for the day. We decided she needed to start acting normal even if it still hurts. But she was still sleeping when I left.

I picked Caitlyn up, she was 3 months old, and the strain caused the clot to dislodge. Bled for two hours.
No, that was not the dry socket.
But, like I said, it's the fourth day, I bet she starts feeling much better today.

Good Plan, she will start feeling normal again.

Hope she feels better soon, my dd had hers our on Tuesday and played basketball on a Friday night. I didn't want her to but it was her senior year and the doctor/oral surgeon said it was ok if she felt like it. I had mine out at 19.
