I'm unusually excited for Christmas this year. DS is getting a big boy bed and I can't wait to see him open it. I love seeing the smile on his face when he opens stuff.

I want to build up a collection of kids' games for DS so I'm thinking I'll give peoples names of games I want if they ask. I don't care about getting something for me but there's lots of games out there DS would love. Currently on my list is: Hungry Hungry Hippos, Operation (the original one), Elefun, Don't Wake Daddy, and Hi Ho Cherry-o. We bought him a fishing game yesterday that we'll play some time this weekend.

Thanksgiving and Christmas for my side of the family are celebrated whenever everyone can attend. My side of the family doesn't care about the day. DH's side of the family wants Thanksgiving and Christmas on the day of so we celebrate with his side on the day of.

I found this. I want to put him on the front porch. Maybe I can find a Rudolph and some misfit toys toy go with him.

One of our traditions growing up was to drive around Christmas eve coming back from mawmaw's looking at the Christmas lights.

I continued the tradition with my kids.

Instead of making and leaving cookies for Santa, we make rice Krispy treats. Use the cookie cutters and decorate them.

The kids love it.

I bought a new tree after Christmas last year. Got a nice, full green, 7.5 foot tree for about $40. No lights though. So I have to buy lights. Got a couple strands of white lights on sale last year too but I need a couple more. I just hope I can find the right ones to match what I have.

Have an idea for a tree topper too.

How do you cheat AR Operation?

I hated that game as a kid. The buzzing would make me a nervous wreck.

I think we had every game known to man when I was a kid.

Battleship, Headache, Trouble, Monopoly, Clue, Operation, Kerplunk, Chinese cheeckers, Cheeckers, Connect Four, Sorry.

The whole top of the biggest closet was stacked full of games.

Our favorites were the simplest to set up and play.

Chinese Cheeckers, Battleship, Trouble and Uno are what we played the most.

We have pulled every game we own and stacked them in the living room. We have 70. We are going through them and getting rid of any with missing pieces and any we don't play, anymore.
