The last few days I have been getting a notice at the top of this board after being on it for a couple of minutes.   It says:

The connection has timed out.

The server at ab142519.adbutler-zinc.com is taking too long to respond.

I have no idea what this means and it does not affect posting on the board, opening messages, etc.    So I am not particularly worried, just curious.  Anyone else seeing this?   The only inconvenience that I notice is that I cannot refresh the page until this notice appears??    But not a big deal.

I have no idea. Could it have anything to do with your location?

It's some kind of advertisement. I've been ignoring it.

Yes, Ed, I wondered about it being an advert for something or other. I guess I will just continue to ignore it, too. (Instead of messing around and really getting into some kind of trouble. LOL)

Maybe it is only the guys on totally geeked that are getting it. Lily evidently doesn't see it....

I don't see it either but I've had some issues getting it to load.

Mine is wonky as well. Now the IP address for the board will not show in the tab.

The net did try to force me to load windows 10 yesterday. It's been wonky ever since and I don't know how to fix it.

I'm actually afraid to close the tab now.  no

The tool bar doesn't work either. Gosh, I hate new fangled stuff.

Microsoft is trying to force EVERYONE to change to Windows 10.

I wouldn't be afraid to close any tabs or windows.

I do suggest that you reboot your computer, immediately, and probably at least once a day going forward.

Microsoft plants things, and ties up what they call "resources", and these things only get cleared by rebooting the computer.

Well, if if was just you, Karl, I'd blame it on China. They are in a massive internet war with google right now. Seems they don't want their citizens having such free access to the internet. But if it's happening here, too - I've no idea.

Thanks, ed. I did close and reboot. It's okay for now.

Yeah, it ticks me off that they try to force you to use a program with a ton of flaws.. no

Don't worry, they will get most of the bugs out of Windows 10, about the time they start selling Windows 12. Or Windows 14.2 .

Of course, that will take so much memory and processor speed that none of our current computers will be able to run it.
