Man Proposes To Boyfriend At Church, Church Responds Perfectly
This is what acceptance looks like.

Love is love, and this congregation embraced that.
Trevor Harper and Davis Covin, who have been dating for nine years, are active members of the First United Methodist Church of Austin in Texas. Harper proposed to Covin at the church earlier this month in front of the congregation -- a moment which was captured in a video and shared on YouTube.
The congregation responded to the magical moment in the best way possible -- with a standing ovation. We must say, we'd totally be lying if we didn't tear up a bit ourselves while watching the proposal.
Harper told BuzzFeed News that the couple's church, which they've belonged to for two years, has been supportive of the pair's relationship and welcome people of all sexual orientations to attend. When Harper proposed, the pair had actually been sharing the story of their faith during the service, according to the video.
While clergy belonging to the Methodist church aren't permitted to perform same-sex marriages, Harper said that his pastor, the Reverend John Wright -- who helped plan the moment -- thought the proposal in front of the congregation was a great way to celebrate the pair's love, BuzzFeed reported. The couple hopes that the church will allow them to hold their wedding ceremony there by the time they plan to get married in 2016.
Yep. This church, and many like it, have turned from God and the Bible.

Saying a church (the members) teach the written Word while not practicing the written Word are an abomination themselves.
Churches (meaning the members) that allow this to happen within their walls are not followers of God's written word. They (the members) are accepting what is an abomination to God.
They (the members) are risking damnation, IMHO.
It is written that in the end times, that which is good will become evil, and that which is evil will become good.
It is happening in our life time.

Faith isn't something that keeps bad things from happening. Faith is what helps us get through bad things when they do happen.
The Bible says that many will come in His name and they will lead people in the wrong direction.
The Devils a liar.

if you want to go by the bible, churches shouldn't be allowed to marry a woman who isn't a virgin. The bible says she should be stoned. And not in the good way.

That statement shows a complete lack of understanding and ignorance of the Bible and Christian doctrine and teachings. It's laughable when non-Christians pretend like they actually know something on the subject.

Of course liberals love this. They claim that they dont care what goes on inside churches, but then again, shove their agendas down our throats. I swear, the thesaurus should have liberal as a synonym to hypocrite...

Yeah, here's the thing. I used to be a Christian. I was one for a very long time. I went to bible study, the works.

My point is...don't tell me I don't know anything about Christianity.
Fine. Let the gays marry, then ask for forgiveness. It can't only apply to you. The bible specifically states that remarriage after divorce constitutes adultery.
"Oh, but times have changed?" Then let gays marry. Times have changed.

Oh brother. If you want to go on a Bible quotingFest, I will happily engage you. The Bible is interpreted in its entirety. Old Testament laws applied to the Jews which preceded Grace. So, if you truly understand the Bible you will know what I am talking about. If not, I guess I will just quote back at ya.
The thing about forgiveness is, it is a two part process.
You are forgiven when you ask for forgiveness and then TURN from repeating that sin.
Guess you missed that part of the Bible stories.

Christians have no problems quoting Leviticus to deny gay people their rights. That's the OT. JESUS said divorce constitutes adultery.
Nobody is denying anyone their "rights'. What rights are you talking about? They have the same "rights' as anyone else. But, the point about Sin is that you are supposed to turn from it and Sin no more.

Yes. And when you ask for forgiveness and don't have sex until you remarry, then you are not sinning.
See, the Bible says the marriage bed is undefiled.
However, it specifically says if a man lays with a man, as he would a woman, his blood shall be upon his own head. It is an abomination.

But you can stay married to your second husband/wife? Interesting.
Some Pharisees came to him (Jesus) to test him. They asked, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?" "Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,' and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'? So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate." "Why then," they asked, "did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?" Jesus replied, "Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery." (TNIV, Matthew 19:3-9)
Biblical Grounds for Divorce
The word translated in the passage above as "sexual immorality" was porneia in the original Greek Bible text. It means illicit sexual intercourse, including adultery, incest, etc. As quoted in Matthew, sexual immorality by one partner is sufficient reason for divorce, but it does not require divorce. In many cases the husband and wife can be reconciled even after adultery. As quoted in Mark and Luke (Mark 10:11-12, Luke 16:18), Jesus did not mention sexual immorality as grounds for divorce.
No other grounds for divorce are mentioned in the New Testament. The New Testament teaches strongly that marriage should be a lifelong commitment. Things such as lack of commitment, different values/beliefs, in-law problems, stress, incompatibility, lack of concern/consideration, sexual problems, growing apart, illness, incapacity, boredom, sexual desires, desire for happiness or other reasons are not Biblical grounds for divorce.

Then why did God create homosexuals?

Why did he create alcoholics, pedophiles, murderers or anything else? Man has choosen to pervert what is Good.
So being gay is now compared to being a murderer?
ONE is a CHOICE.

No, the ACT is a choice. Im sure there are pedophiles that do not act. There are people that really want to murder. They dont act. Being a homosexual is not a sin. The act is...

"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them." -Jesus
Old Testament Times demonstrate the need for a Savior. That man is utterly incapable of saving himself. That Man on his own accord can never measure up to God because the standards are beyond us. That is what Old Testament times show. That is why they still had to ATONE for sin using animal and blood sacrifices. Jesus is the Atonement thus eliminating the need for doing that.
Christians have no problems quoting Leviticus to deny gay people their rights. That's the OT. JESUS said divorce constitutes adultery.

You asked a question I answered it. Just because something exists doesn't mean God condones it. So, that is really an odd question.
Why is it odd?
Sexual orientation is not a choice.
flan
Neither is alcoholism. Is there not a gene predisposing people to that? Just because you are predisposed towards something doesn't mean you have to act it out behaviorally.
