And you have to look at the whole picture here. This is the story she is telling. She says she was in a hurry and went to Frye's to buy candy for her nephews bday. Why would you go to Frye's for candy? That doesn't even make sense. Then she says it was really crowded and she just wanted to get in and out so she left her older three kids in the running car while she went in. So it's really busy and you think it's a good idea to leave three kids locked in a car in a busy parking lot? Don't know how old they were but one of them is three. She says it's not her fault because she usually loads the older kids in first and when she opened the door and saw them already in the car she just assumed she had loaded the baby in. That makes no sense. Then she says she usually takes her cart to the corral but this ONE TIME she didn't and therefore didn't notice the car seat in the shopping cart. Don't buy it. Whenever I go shopping I always do a final once over of the cart to make sure I have gotten all the bags put in the car. Her story has too many holes.

We have two types of Fry's here. One is an electronics store. The other is a grocery store.

I have never forgotten my son in the car or cart. No matter how tired, busy, preoccupied, etc. I have been, I have never forgot my son anywhere. The few times I go to the store without him, I feel awkward. He's an extension of me and I not just wouldn't, I *can't* forget him. Especially in a shopping cart. A car seat is a HUGE thing to not see.

And infant car seat literally takes up the whole back of the shopping cart. And thanks for clearing up the Frye's thing. Here they are only electronic stores.

That's what I'm confused about, those things take up a ton of room. Did she not look in her rear view mirror the whole way home?

I guess not. She says she opened the back door to load the kids in and noticed the older kids were already in so she ASSUMED the baby was in there. I'm just not buying this. You just turned around from the cart your baby is in and you forget? If your memory is that bad then no, you don't need kids. How would you be looking into the back seat and not notice the car seat?

I hope she never uses the carts that have the little cars attached to the front that Fry's has. If she can't see her baby in a car seat in the cart, she sure won't see her kid in the car part of the cart.

That's what I was thinking. It's the same in CA. When I moved to AZ, I was surprised at how popular Fry's was out here then realized that most of the Fry's here are grocery stores.

They have nearly the same logo though.

There is literally not one thing this woman can say that would lend me to feel any compassion for her. Nothing. I have never, ever, forgotten a child. We don't have Home Alone moments in our house because our children matter more to us than anything else in the world. If you were carrying around your bank account in $1 bills, you would be sure to remember to bring THAT with you wherever you went. My kids are more important to me than anything. There is no excuse for her behavior.

This was way worse than the premise of the Home Alone movies.  This was a BABY that isn't even mobile.  You have to carry them everywhere.  If you carried it in with you--how can it not strike you that you aren't carrying one out?

Well, I could agree with you--but then we'd both be wrong.

Yeah, I can't rationalize how you JUST gave birth to a baby. This baby is two months old. There is no way I could forget any of my kids much less a two month old. I mean you're body is still recovering from birth!

And it irks me that she simply won't take responsibility for what she did. She blames it on everyone and everything but herself. Yes, she does deserve the child endangerment charge. And like husker says she needs parenting classes as well.
