The top part is like mesh almost so no matter what the baby can breathe.  Underneath there's a removable rubber lining made out of recycled milk jugs.  This whole set up just drops into a regular crib.  The mesh comes off really easily and can be thrown in the wash.

 I agree.  It is made by people and used by people.  The mesh is removable and going to be put back on by the user.  I am sure people will mess that part up.
