The Missing Monday

Today is a holiday for my office (and many others I am sure). So it's like the missing Monday, a Monday, but much more tolerable than usual lol

I should be sleeping right now, but that doesn't seem to be happening. Meeting a friend to go shopping today, only plans I have.  

How is everyone else spending their day?

DN and Sparkly are coming over again. We bought a huge brisket, ribs, and sausage from the vets. We'll be eating that with some au gratin potatoes. Not sure about the rest of the day.

I'm on call. Already have a case at 8 so I'm getting ready to head in at 7. Just read that two kids were injured in separate activities last night so there will probably be more cases.

I am just working and paying bills. I hardly saw the bf yesterday, hoping to spend a little time with him. We see very little of each other, considering we live in the same house.

DN and my precious great nephew are spending their last day in town with us before they move 400 miles away. 😓 They have lived here exactly 6 months.

Oh aces, no steam! Waiting for plant services to call. They usually drag their feet when they have to come in on call. Thing is, no steam=no boiler=no hot water for patients or the kitchen.

I slept in today and it was blissful. No work for me. DH and DD have school though - boarding school kids don't get days off like this. A day off means nothing but trouble, they need their structure. If they have time off of school, it's usually a few days or more.

I am hoping to get some cleaning and more unpacking done. I have finally finished a room or two. Lots of things to buy, so I may head out to the furniture store and Target. When I am off, it's dangerous for DH - I want to spend money!

2 1/2 hours ago we were in Pigeon Forge.

Home, unpacked, laundry going and thinking a nap is moments away.

My legs are tree trunks. So very swelled and sore. But the kids and I had a nice time together.

Today will be spent doing laundry and, hopefully, getting more done around the apartment.

I want bbq but oh well. I don't have anything on hand to cook anyway.

DH and DS are still asleep. Lazy butts, lol. I've been up for almost an hour and a half.

 yep!  And I earned about $40 in coupons and I have an outlet a few miles up the highway from me.  :)

Ok just went swimming in my neighbor's pool. I hope they are still in it when DD comes home, DD loves going in the pool.

back from shopping. Spent way more than I should have, but got a lot of really good stuff. The Limited was having a huge sale, the whole store was 50% off! I got a bunch of stuff for work. Then we went to 4 different craft stores. So much fun to have someone to go shopping with! I'm so excited I've actually made a friend!

I am now preparing for my fantasy football draft. I usually come in near last place, but its always fun :)

We had another really nice visit with DN and Sparkly. They get along really well and fight like they're already married. It's funny. I think they're going to get married as soon as she graduates. She said they're not going to get married now because they don't have money for a ring and marriage will affect her school financial information. She says she's ready to have kids. Sparkly told her I'm a better cook than she is.

I am glad you had a nice visit. She is so much more grown up than when you first started telling us about her adventures. I am proud of her - even if I don't know her. Lol

My air purifiers came in today. We share a wall with a man who smokes and sometimes we can smell it coming through the walls. It isn't often, but when it happens I don't like it so I bought them to eliminate the smoke smell. I set them up but only turned on the one in DD's room (which stinks like a locker room anyway) . We still have the windows open all through the house and it doesn't make sense to turn the other on until we close up for the summer. I refuse to acknowledge that fall is coming!!

She has grown up a ton. I'm really proud of her too. I'm glad she's happy.

Air purifiers are good. I saw on pinterest the other day that some people are taking the Glade air fresheners with the oil in them apart and filling them with Fabulouso floor cleaner because they like the smell. I wonder who thought dumping a bunch of chemicals to infuse through the air was a good idea?

We got back from Denver today. I turned the air back on, ran a load of laundry, and had DD take a shower- then the house started smelling like burning plastic and we weren't sure what triggered it. We have looked and sniffed every part of the house and could not figure out where it was coming from. Google is scaring the crap out of me, but we think it is the A/C motor or fans, so turned it off for the night and will do a service call in the morning. Not fun to come home to.
