Hahahaha! Here's my rose story... One Valentines I was dating this super nice guy. He sent me six dozen red roses. When the guy delivered them he asked me if he could take me out on a date! I called my b/f and told him what happened. He was so mad. The next day I got six dozen more roses from the florist with a note from the owner saying the guy had been fired and he hoped I liked my complimentary flowers.

Oh she has! She's a big fatty now! We tease her and tell her her rolls have rolls. The vet said he wants her to lose a couple pounds. We've been trying but it doesn't seem to be working. She really likes to eat. She loves food. And she loves the floor under the table after dinner.

It is probably because she was starving before.  We had a cat once that we found half starved.  Even after she got nourished & up to proper weight we couldn't leave anything out on the counter or she'd rip into it.  Loaves of bread, cake, whatever.  She'd tear into it like she was still starving.

Yep.  That's exactly it.  I think she will always feel like she might be missing the next meal.  She will eat anything in my house left unsecured.  She ate my SS gift from IKWTDS.  She eats rocks out of my plants.  She eats my herbs  right off the plant.  We have had to baby proof our house and we watch her.  It's not her fault though.  Dogs are instinctive.  She still has that fear packed away in the back of her mind.

We named the cat Scavenger.  It is sad but both she and Carlee got lucky.  I cannot imagine what they & others like them go through.  I think I'm starving if I don't get lunch by 1:30.

You know, we take it in stride. It is what it is. Some see it as drama but it's just the price of owning a pet. I thought a lot about it yesterday and Carlee was found living on the streets. We have no idea how long she lived there. She was seriously malnourished when she was found. So I wonder if some of that could be the reason she is now having issues. You have to be properly nourished in order for the brain to develop correctly. I posted this before but here she is when she was found.

 Oh, poor baby!

My mom found CousCous in the woods, horribly malnourished. The pet shop in town was dumping animals in the forest once they "aged out" of being cute.

Oh Weltz that is horrible.

I bought a kitten once from the pet store because she was the only one left & marked as clearance $5. I was worried they might euthanize her if nobody bought her. My brother did the same with a dog.

No.  She didn't have puppies with her when the person picked her up.  They took her to the humane society.  They believe, because of the location she was found, that she was being used to breed pits for fighting.  She's obviously had at least one litter of pups.  Maybe more.  The humane society took her in and kept her there in the beginning.  They fixed her and treated her for several things like mange.  Then they gave her her shots and started her on some prophylactics for things like heartworm.  Next she was sent to a foster family until she was healthy enough to be adopted.  We got her almost immediately after her picture came out offering her up for adoption.  My DH said there was something about her that just called out to him.  I don't know what it is but she and my other dog are like twins.  It's almost amazing.  They are mirror images of each other.  They sleep in mirror images, play like that, and eat like that.  It's like some silent bond between them.

I know many people who took in rescued dogs from puppy mills. They're such great dogs.

She's an awesome dog other than her want to eat anything and everything. She loves her kennel very much so when we leave we kennel her. AND, other dog is high strung and hates the kennel but Carlee seems to have a very calming effect on Layla. So now we are able to kennel both dogs together when we leave. She is so lovable. She's such an attention whore though! She will come throw herself on your lap for attention. But at about 65 pounds she's not really a lap dog!

She and Layla have this game. Layla loves to tear open tennis balls to see what's inside. So Layla will work for hours tearing them open and then Carlee takes over and will start trying to eat them. We have to be careful to throw them away if we find a partial ball. Okay, sorry to bore you all with dog stories... I love my little doggies.

Not Bored at all. Be careful, though. My sister had two Dobies die on her because they would eat non-food.  One had eaten panty house and really twisted up his insides. Poor thing had to be put down.

So far we haven't caught her eating anything worse than the SS gift IKWTDS sent me and a rock from the garden.  We've taken a lot of precautions since then to move things out of her reach.  I know they can eat some pretty innocent things and they can be toxic.

Oh, and I did find out why it was so expensive to have Hemi's tooth removed. Remember we talked about that? About getting an implant? I asked my husband about it and he said that they would have to take part of his jawbone out with the tooth. That's why it was such a big issue.

So DD came home from softball not feeling well. Sounds like something she ate is making her feel ill. Anyway, she at least now is no longer complaining that her stomach hurts all over and is not as sensitive to the light. Sigh
