The residents of Colorado are passionate about the outdoors, the Denver Broncos, legalized marijuana and, apparently, their right to physically protect public parking spots at all costs.
A man shot video of a physical altercation that took place between a woman and an SUV on the streets of Denver earlier this month and posted the footage to YouTube.
The woman in the video was intent on saving an empty parking spot on the side of a busy street, so she stood in the space and held her ground while the SUV unsuccessfully attempted to back in.

A man (left) got out of another vehicle when it pulled up and talked to the woman in the SUV. He got the spot
While the SUV was backing up, the woman said: 'Move it lady. You're going to run me over.
'You're running me over lady.'
The driver of the SUV did push the woman back a few feet with the large vehicle before stopping.
A man got out of another vehicle after it pulled up and approached the woman in the SUV.
He said: 'I've got all day, so if you don't want to move I can sit here all day.'
Crazy woman blocks parking space with her body
The SUV's driver finally had enough and drove off to find parking elsewhere.
The man who recorded the video said: 'Some might say that backing slowly into this crazy woman is assault, but the lady pounding on the vehicle is also considered vandalism.
'This was such a petty fight, especially considering the fact that there was a multi-story parking garage behind me as I was recording this.
'Let's be real. If she got that spot, her tires would've most likely been slashed.'
The guy is right about the tire slashing or some sort of vandalism. If someone doesn't want you to park in a spot, suck it up and move, and once safely in park, call the cops.

Yep, exactly right. Win the battle, lose the war....
I had altercation like this at walmart. Bitch with umbrella was saving the spot....her hubby left his wallet at home. Meanwhile its sprinkling and I see an old lady walking from several rows back . I said no fvcking way. I turned off my engine said no one can park here now....until the cops get here. She stormed off yelling obscenities....I let the person behind me have the space. Didn't want my tires slashed either. It's possible for the driver not to have seen her ;)
