Rouson Hinton, 28, of Uniondale, was arrested on Rouson Hinton, 28, of Uniondale, was arrested on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015, charged with assault and with endangering the welfare of a child in connection with a road rage incident in East Meadow, State Police said.

A Uniondale man was arrested Sunday afternoon after he attacked another driver during a road rage incident on the Meadowbrook State Parkway near Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow, State Police said.

Police said he had his 2-year-old child in the car with him when he assaulted the victim, breaking bones in his face and his jaw.

Rouson Hinton, 28, of 781 Dale Place, was charged with second-degree assault and with endangering the welfare of a child. He was held for arraignment Monday in First District Court in Hempstead.

Police said that 911 callers alerted troopers to the incident at 2:11 p.m. Sunday. A trooper from the Lake Success barracks responded to the scene on the northbound side of the Meadowbrook near Hempstead Turnpike, finding a man behind the wheel of a Nissan who "appeared to be a victim of an assault."

Witnesses told police that the driver of a red Lexus had forced the Nissan off the road, then had exited his car -- and punched the driver of the Nissan. The Lexus driver then returned to his car and fled the scene, witnesses said.

Those witnesses got the license plate of the Lexus.

The investigation led police to Dale Place in Uniondale and police said troopers were at the residence when Hinton arrived at the home -- and arrested him.

Police said an investigation found Hinton had his 2-year-old in the car during the attack. It was not clear if the child was a boy or a girl.

Police said the victim was transported to Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola for treatment of broken facial bones and a broken jaw.

His condition was not known and his identity was not released.
