Thanks. He's got such a sweet soul. He has not had the easiest life and yet he is always trying to do something nice for others. More people should be like him.

Thanks Czech. And Lily it wasn't my SS. The younger or my two bio sons as they say.

Yeah. I knew what you meant.
I was wondering if this is the autistic son.
If so, that's quite an accomplishment.
At least it would be for mine.
You must be proud.

Yep. It was my Autistic son. I was really proud of him. He did a good job. He had heard of other places doing this but nowhere in TX. So he approached the police captain and asked if they could hold it at the police station. After he got permission he worked with the police to set up a FB page to announce the event. He randomly brings the police officers cookies and the firemen bottles of water.

So I realized last night that I am now baby sitting SS's mom's grand daughter three days a week and just how weird that sounds.

How awesome of him!
He is an awesome kid if I do say so myself!

What!
LOL Yes. SS's mom actually has three kids by three men. A 23 year old girl by her first marriage. SS by DH. And the four year old by her newest husband. My DH was the step father of her first daughter. She now has a two year old little girl that I started babysitting this week. Someone commented on it and it hit me out of the blue how weird it must sound to others that I am babysitting SS's mom's grand daughter!

Hahahaha yep. Maybe it's because not a single one was supposed to happen!

DH (and I) are both still close to the mom. The 23 year old. She lives around the corner. The little girl is a doll with a head full of curly blond hair. She desperately needed a sitter and couldn't really afford a daycare. She asked me if I would do it and I said sure!

I would have added a bit more, but decided to be nice.

LOL, I think you all got my point.
If I really wanted to be tacky I could tell you that every one of her kids were conceived by men who were already married to other women.

Hahahaha. Ya'll are chickens. I don't really care what ya'll say about her. She's weird. One time she told both DH and me that she likes the drama and excitement of dating married men. I guess that's why she lives with an abuser now. We get along but we're not BFF's. We talk and we're civil and all is good for SS's sake and that's all I ask or want.

I think that may have come out wrong. I meant it doesn't bother me if other people say stuff about her. I mean I'm not trying to be hateful. I don't know how to say this without sounding weird. I can't seem to say it correctly.

Well it wasn't just her who sounded bad. It sort of reflects on your DH if he was a married man at the time he got her pregnant with SS.
DH was a drunk. He fully admits it. His first wife encouraged him to drink and didn't mind if he cheated. She said she loved him enough to forgive him of anything. To this day I try to make him understand that this is not a normal attitude and instead, part of a highly dysfunctional relationship. With his drinking the marriage was doomed. When he got SS's mom pregnant he divorced his wife to marry his son's mom. Then something happened. He held his son for the first time and realized what being a parent entailed and got sober. SS's mom no longer liked him. The marriage went south pretty quickly after that. So yes, DH has made tons of mistakes. But he also tried to make things right with people, cleaned up his act, learned from his mistakes, and changed. He's still different to this day. And I've heard some pretty awful stories from the old days.

It''s the offset for being able to come home early, work still needs to get done so I work later hours.
That is how I feel most days, that confused look. I love the challenge and is how I used to work before DD was born. My previous company game me a gift when DD was born and that gift was doing easier positions. No Challenge, started feeling lousy about that. So now I have it back and feel engaged with my career. Love the job, I deal with the hours, I have 10 years to go and then can pull back on the career ladder climb.

You are still in "new job confusion". I must have joined you somewhere along the line.
Glad you are enjoying the challenges, but please, stop throwing me for a loop! I'm loopy enough!

Faith isn't something that keeps bad things from happening. Faith is what helps us get through bad things when they do happen.
I did it, though...9:30 - 7:30, including 2 outreach visits to a preschool that includes developmentally delayed kids. I really have to be "on" for them.

flan
The developmentally delayed kids do need extra patience and their needs are a lot higher. Glad you are able to work with all the kiddo's.
