And you obviously don't get that fire and brimstone preaching is meant to open a person's eyes to their sin because if they don't change their ways, they will damn themselves to Hell.

But the while point of 90% of the religious discussions we have are about how it is unimportant how you live your life. The ONLY thing necessary is to accept Jesus as your savior. Keep track, Lily.
And I am still waiting for how the Pope is preaching against the Bible.

Well, that can be taken many ways and I would have to say I agree to a certain extent.

How you live your life is very important.

Accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior is only the first step.

You have to stop the sins you asked forgiveness for.

You can't ask forgiveness then go right back to living in sin.

That's the hardest part, turning away from sin.

As for the pope, I can't remember where he said it, but he said, and I am paraphrasing, that you didn't need God to get into Heaven.

Oh my GOD Lily, that is the quote we are talking about, and NO, he never said that. He has in fact stated multiple times that the ONLY true salvation is from God.

No. It was another time.

And look. Something about this guy is NOT right.

I am completely within my rights to feel the way I do.

I am not Catholic. However, I do believe the Pope can be a force for good in the world. For the most part, it has only been the Catholic Church who has strongly maintained a strong stand against the evil of abortion. I admire the Catholic Church for not caving.
