It's a new week!  I have tons of baking to do this week.  Making that carrot cake I posted for church group Tuesday.  And I have to make two pecan cheese cake pies for next weekend.  A lot of fattening not good for you food.  We're celebrating birthdays next weekend though.  I have to find an oversize Walking Dead blanket by next weekend.  He's 6'8" tall so it has to be BIG.

Meeting a friend for breakfast. Feel like poo. This cold needs to take a hike.
I'm trying to find an egg free dessert to make. Cooking dinner tomorrow for friend who just has surgery and she's allergic.

My coffee this morning tastes like heaven. It's in the 30's here right now. Need to get in the shower, house cleaner comes soon and I have to leave soon after she is done. Meeting the tenant to give her the key to DS' town house.

Hi Everyone.

Those sound great NJN! I hope you find the right blanket.

Hi Karl! How are things in your neck of the woods?

Feel better soon SB. Could you make a cobbler?

Have a good meeting flan.

Feel free to send your house cleaner my way, IKWTDS :)

My throat is still killing me. I couldn't sleep, so I am up before everyone else, which is kind of nice.

I have watery eyes and my lungs feel filled.  I don't know if I have the beginnings of a cold or if it's the ragweed.

I feel the same, IKWTDS. Except for the lung part. It's still in my nose/throat. DOn't know if I caught whatever #2 has been recovering from or if it's the ragweed. But this is the second time in 30 days for both of us. Going to pick up some cold medicine for HBP.

Sorry you guys don't feel good.

It just hit 70 here. Still a bit muggy.

Funeral arrangements for my cousin will be made today. Today would have been their 40th wedding anniversary. So sad.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Sorry for those that don't feel good! NAOW, try this, take a tablespoon of honey and squeeze some FRESH lemon into it. Then swallow it like cough syrup. It really works for a sore throat. Don't ask me how I know this...

Karl, I will send you a cheesecake in the mail. My family is not big cake eaters. We will be celebrating DH's and Sparkly's birthday. DS is gluten free. I am making the pies because Sparkly told me I am an excellent cook and loves to eat here. So we are doing pies and some cookies from the bakery. I am going to have her whip up some peanut butter chocolate chip cookies that are gluten free. I was thinking the kids could make ice cream sandwiches if they wanted. Sparkly likes pac man so I'm going to get her to make some pac man cookies too.

SB you can substitute applesauce for eggs.

For every large egg a recipe requires, toss 1/4 cup of applesauce in its place. If you're concerned about taste, note that subbing in applesauce will give your classic recipe a texture that's spongier and fluffier, but as long as you're using an unsweetened variety, it should not affect the taste much.

I so wish our weather was cooler in the night. We're still in the 90's during the day.

Hope I didn't miss anyone. Have a good day to all.

I told DH to pick me up a lemon, thanks NJN. Nothing is helping so far. Not Aleve, Tylenol, Cepacal... DH has some 800mg Ibuprofen that I will try next.

Gargle with warm salt water. It'll help immediately.

Took Aksel to work for an hour because we have a new vendor doing a demo on her dog treats. They are made from all local ingredients and are human grade food - you can eat them too. He was well behaved and caused a big ruckus with his cuteness. I got him chicken nuggets on the way home, he ate them and now he is on my lap snoozing.

I need to get up and do some cooking.

I make dog biscuits!  They are made with all human stuff.  Mostly oatmeal.  You can make pumpkin ones too which are supposed to be really good for dog's stomachs.

Try some chai tea.  Add more cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg.  The spices will coat your throat.

I did pick up a chai tea at the coffee shop yesterday- it helped quite a bit. I will have DH grab some of that at the store too.

She makes a few different varieties - pumpkin, peanut butter, blueberry. I personally like the blueberry but Aksel likes the peanut butter best. Big surprise. Lol

Her treats are gluten free, grain free, and preservative free. Yummy.

I don't remember if I used flour or not. I do know I used a lot of oatmeal. And yes, because they don't have preservatives you have to keep them in an airtight container.

OOH! Those are so cute! Do you have a baby Tula now? How do you like it if you do? I have an Ergo, so not sure if I can justify getting another one, especially since I've never even tried wearing her on my back yet.

We have an ergo and he is 30 pounds already.  I want to get the Toddler tula since it has a higher back and goes to about 50 pounds.  This way my husband can wear him on his back if we go for a hike or something.   Gordito has always refused the stroller and being in an L.A. I prefer babywearing so random people don't touch him.

I love babywearing and started out with a Baby K'tan, then a ring sling, then the ergo and now the Tula.  DH said he would cut me off at a Kinderpack!  But those are mostly for disabled kids and I couldn't image a 5 year old letting me wear him.  I figure I got another year or year 1/2 left.
