Meh. I've always just washed as I cook so there really isn't a whole lot left after a meal.

But a washer? I couldn't live without one.

Yeah, just doesn't sound good to me. I am not a fish person. I mean, I will eat lobster and salmon and shrimp and scallops at the beach or on rare occasions but for the most part, I would rather have something else.

I totally agree.  I've known this kid since he was in diapers.  There is no way he would mistreat an animal so I assume they are well behaved friendly dogs.  But the thing with them killing a cat can be instinct.

I suppose I could move, but I don't want to. I rent a pretty little two-storey cottage with a little back yard for $635 a month in a fantastic neighbourhood. I'll live without the washing machine.

Hell, hand washing my wine glasses and shot glasses alone take that much time!  LOL!

And I'm EXTEMELY picky about my glasses.  Hand washing them just doesn't get it for me.  Mind you, I have over 200 glasses...

I understand fish tacos have different types of sauces on them than the meat taco.

Yeah, always be careful.  We were worried about how the dogs would react to the little girl we keep.  They were most curious about her diaper.  Other than that they were fine.

We use to have a fish pita thing where I worked.

This place serves up haddock on a soft taco shell, loaded with salad on top. Lots of baby greens, lime, tomato and cilantro. Or I'll go to Amir and get a falafel. LOVE falafel.

Please be careful.  Just heard an awful story of a pitbull a couple was sitting and killed their cat.  :(

Oh my.  I have 3 cats.  The dogs will be crated during the day when we are at work.  I'll just have to be careful about them when the dogs are outside in case one of the cats runs through the back yard.

Thanks for the warning.

It sounded awful!  In the livingroom.  Sad for the cat owners.  They're baby was 15.

I would be hysterical if they killed one of my babies.

He is going to bring the dogs over for me to meet either tonight or tomorrow.  I'll be sure to ask if they have been around cats before.

The place I worked, it was a deep fried piece of pollock, inside a deep fried pita. It had a slice of cheese, topped with lettuce and a really awesome sauce. A bit spicy but not too spicy.

We, those who worked there, put that sauce on about everything. It was awesome with fries.

I've seen the one with lime and cilantro, topped with shredded cabbage. The cabbage was lightly dressed with something.

It looked good.

Someone is burning some serious weed around here.

The whole area has a smokiness hanging over it.

I'm talking the kind of smokiness from a field or woods burning.

I do, but I need one of those antique hand-cranked wringers. I have arthritis in my hands and can't wring much water out.  It took three days for the last batch of laundry to dry on the line.

Doesn't the spin cycle in your washing machine wring most of the water out?

I don't have a washing machine.

Oh.  You hand wash everything?  I would really hate doing laundry then.  I don't particularly like it now.

Either that or the Laundromat. I rent a small cottage with no washing machine hookups.  I don't have a dishwasher, either. Oh, the horror!

Sounds lovely.  Do you have a garden?

Yes, I do. I have tomatoes, giant blue hostas, herbs and miniature roses. A huge palm tree in a pot, and assorted hanging baskets.

I do a lot of cooking, and there's nothing like fresh herbs.

I don't seem to have any luck with dill, however, and I adore dill.

So tired from yesterday. How tired? I just realized that DS hit 22 months yesterday and I didn't even think about it yesterday. I can't believe I'll have a 2 year old in 2 months. He thoroughly enjoyed himself at his friend's birthday party though. She turned 3. Two of his other friends were there (1 boy, 1 girl). DS and the boy are very much the same in personality - rambunctious but sweet - and spent a good amount of time beating each other with balloons and laughing about it. The girls were busy in the birthday girl's room playing.

Stopped by the in-laws after the party. FIL was busy watching the lunar eclipse. DS had fun playing with their new kitten. MIL was overjoyed to get some grandbaby time in.

It's not too hot here, but it just wilts and dies. It's been a bad year for dill. It's usually about 69 cents a bunch, but this year...Yowza!  It hit a high of  $2.49 a bunch.

Oh, does that wringer bring back memories of my mother washing.  She had a machine, but it only swished the clothes and soap around.  Then two large wash tubs; both filled with clear water.  The first had a little bluing in it to keep the sheets white; the next was just water.   Whites first, colors next.  Then put them through a wringer.  Then hang up, when dry take down, fold, sprinkled and wrap so they would be a little damp for ironing.    What a tremendous amount of work women used to do just for washing (don't even think about cooking, canning, etc.) in the not so distant past....

I am bummed.

Just got in from the funeral home.

It was so sad. I still can't believe she is gone. Her husband is barely holding it together and her son just looks lost.

The cause of death was anurism in her stomach. She just bled out in her sleep.

Please keep them in your prayers.

No, but I do have a massive antique claw-foot tub. Will that do?
