NAOW, Tongue tingly? sounds like a blood flow issue. I can't stand how docs can't see you right away now, wasn't like that a year ago. Now you have to go to a doc in the box.

Why is it that Bunny will do anything I say as long as I am holding his Mario doll and speaking in a (terrible) Italian accent?
Being told to go to bed is more palatable when it comes from a puppet. I don't get it.

This is a recent development. It started as just play, having his stuffed animals read him books and such.

Do you really think I should stop? It's just a silly voice, Bunny seems to like it.

If a stuffed animal tells Bunny that he is sleepy and wants to snuggle the kid leaps into bed and goes right to sleep. Is that wrong?

Did they not give you anything better than lidocaine mouthwash? You told the doctor the pain was keeping you awake, right?

Your husband is in the military, isn't he? Don't be hesitant to visit the ER. It will make them listen to you and order more testing sooner.

We are at the ER now. Whatever is in my throat got bigger and was making me gag so I went to urgent care, who couldn't do anything, so I came here. But now whatever it is seems to have moved or come loose and is in the middle of my throat, or at least that's what it feels like. My mouth is still all tingly and it still hurts.

All they gave me was the mouthwash. My tonsils are fine too. It's behind them and down my throat.

Maybe your larynx is infected? I had that once. Wasn't aware that part could get infected. It felt like what you're describing.

Possibly something with your thyroid? I'm not sure what all else is in that area.

I think for bedtime that it is fine. But if he refuses to mind YOU on a daily basis unless you pull out that puppet, then it's gone too far.

I used a sock puppet to tell bedtime stories and help get the kids settled in for the night.

They still talk about Stinky and have created their own over the years.

It's creative and constructive play.

I'm ok. Er doc thinks it was a build up of gunk in my throat and she must have been right because its better today. She gave me prednisone for the swelling and Vicodin. I think it might be a little better today but maybe that's just the Vicodin working, lol. Blood tests were good, mono testwas negative but she said that can take a few weeks to come up positive. She said it's probably viral and could last up to 6 weeks but wanted me to follow up with my regular doctor today-which is where I am now.

My doc is doing more cultures and blood work and wants me back Monday regardless of if it's getting better or not.
