The story I read said that 15 were killed, 20 wounded & the shooter had been detained.

Roseburg, Oregon is about 260 miles south of Portland.

I'm not sure what the solution is either, flan. I seriously think they need to bring back a modified version of the insane asylums and stop promoting mental illness as heroic. That would be a good start.

Paramedics return to their ambulances after delivering patients to Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg. A shooting at Umpqua Community College had ambulances from multiple agencies delivering victims to Mercy in Roseburg, Oregon.

11:15 a.m. Police and emergency crews are at Umpqua Community College after a reported gunman has shot upwards of 20 people on campus. Scanner reports indicated the suspect is down. Multiple ambulances are on scene. Early reports indicate at least 15 people are dead. Students are reporting on social media that they are trapped inside classrooms.

11:20 a.m. Police are clearing the science building at this time.

11:28 a.m. Photographer just returned from Mercy Medical Center where he witnessed multiple ambulances bringing in patients.

11:34 a.m. Reporter at UCC describes the scene as “pure chaos.”

11:39 a.m. Jared Norman, a nursing student at UCC, said he heard shots and then everyone was running. He is locked down in the cafeteria with 50 other students right now. They’ve heard there is a shooting, but they don’t know what’s going on. And they’re scared.

11:42 a.m. Automated phone call went out to parents at Roseburg School District, referencing UCC shooting and saying all schools are safe.

11:49 a.m. “We locked our door and I went out to lock up the rest rooms and could hear four shots from the front of campus,” said UCC Foundation Executive Director Dennis O’Neill. “We have heard there are casualties but know nothing more at this stage.”

11:53 a.m. Oregon State Police are reporting via CNN that 10 people are dead and that the alleged shooter is dead.

11:57 a.m. Students and staff are gathered on the front lawn, waiting to be loaded onto a bus.

Kathleen Nickel, a spokesperson for Mercy Medical Center, said six patients have been brought to Mercy Medical Center and they are expecting two more.

WARNING MESSAGE FROM 'SHOOTER POSTED ON EVE OF OREGON CAMPUS RAMPAGE FOUND ON ONLINE FORUM'


A warning message from the shooter who opened fire at an Oregon college allegedly appeared on an internet forum last night.

The message, which was posted anonymously on bulletin board 4Chan, read: 'Some of you guys are alright. Don't go to school tomorrow if you are in the northwest.'

The message continues 'happening thread will be posted tomorrow morning. so long space robots.'

The alleged post is no longer visible on the website - the cached version was first posted on Reddit after the shooting.

'Will post again in am, 10 min countdown. Won't say more to much to prepare,' the post continues.

Under the disturbing message several users advise the poster on the best ways to kill people.

One user wrote: 'I suggest you enter a classroom and tell people that you will take them as hostages. Make everyone get in one corner and then open fire.

'Make sure that there is no way that someone can disarm you as it it possible. I suggest you carry a knife on your belt as last resort if someone is holding your gun.'

While another user wrote: 'You might want to target a girls school which is safer because there are no beta males throwing themselves for their rescue.

'Do not use a shotgun. I would suggest a powerful assault rifle and a pistol or 2x pistols. Possibly the type of pistols who have 15+ ammo.'

I really don't think you stop someone who just boldly does these types of things. The most you can hope is to limit whatever damage they can inflict. Obviously, in "gun free zones", there is nobody to fight fire with fire.

There are limitless gatherings of people everywhere. Who are just going about their lives. They aren't standing by waiting for an armed shooter. It only takes a few moments for them to open fire and kill in numbers. It's sick.

 He can talk about it without making it into a political agenda speech.  Do you know that College had a no weapon policy?  The Security guard had no gun, couldn't stop it.  THE KILLINGS were stopped within minutes of gun toting law enforcement arriving.  In NH the killings would be stopped in about 3 minutes from a gun toting professor.  STOP with the anti gun mantra.
