If we don't need guns, then let the White House take the lead. Remove all guns from Secret Service surrounding the President and his family. Until then Mr. President, MY family is every bit as important as yours.

There isn't.  What are you talking about?

Obama practically chokes over saying the word "terrorist".  He wouldn't even categorize the Boston Marathon bombers as terrorists, or acknowledge that they were Muslims until it was so obvious he had no choice.

I'm not sure how you can defend that guy.

He wants to.  He uses every opportunity to talk about it he can--when he refuses to discuss the real issue.

That is his END goal flan. My hope is that every episode of a shooting in "Gun Free" zone results in more Americans arming themselves.

Fine. But if you're ever somewhere and someone open fires where you are....and gets stopped by a good guy with guns....I reckon you'll be glad not everyone thinks like you.

There's plenty.

There was a profile online to indicate that.  He was deliberately targeting Christians.  Russia had him on a terrorist watch list because he tried to go to Syria earlier this year.

There is none so blind as he who will not see.

And I can't understand that mindset.  What is the big deal?  People talk like owning a gun is some huge thing to get all worked up about. It's not any more of a big deal than owning a car or a TV.

The article you posted has

him attempting to travel to Syria

Russia putting him on a watch list with 87,000 others

Delivering the list to the CIA and Interpol

Have the CIA and Interpol reject list

all with in a three week span before the shooting.

also

And the information relating to the black-Islamist terrorist Mercer “leaked” into Reedus by the SVR/FSB is, to say the least, shocking and disturbing–including that immediately after the Oregon mass shooting, his Internet personal profile was changed from his true identity as an ISIS/ISIL terror supporter to one of his being a “white conservative Republican”.

seems to refer to his dating profile.I do not see why anyone would go and change this guys dating profile or why a dating profile would indentify him as a ISIL supporter.

I have my doubts about the source of the article

I've never lived in a home without a gun.  I've known very few people who didn't have guns in their home, or don't now.  I've never known anyone personally who got killed with a gun.

I know tons of people who have gotten killed in car accidents.

ZERO difference.

I actually only know 1 person who owns a gun, and I do not know anyone who was killed in a car accident. I do know 2 people who were killed in a plane crash though. It wasn't until we moved somewhere rural that we even knew anyone who had guns in their home. DD's old high school had a shooting team. But that was SO foreign to us.

No one in my family or my extended family owned a gun growing up. Once I was out of the house, my dad bought a gun and uses it only at the range. He keeps the gun unloaded in a cement block room in the basement with a steel door and a padlock. The bullets are kept in a safe, inside a lock box. No chance of anyone having an accident.

I don't know if I am, or not--but so what?  That's not why I have guns, anyway.  No one I know personally has ever fired a gun at someone else--warefare, excepted--yet most people I know own guns.

Whether or not you think you can kill someone is completely irrelevant.

Nope. No one ever. I have a cousin who died from a heroin overdose, another cousin who died of AIDS in the early 90's and lots of family who died of illness and old age. Friends - none died of anything other than illness and the 2 who died in a plane crash.

People are way more likely to die in a car accident than to be killed by a gun. By your logic no one should own a car either. Of course there are all kinds of logic out there I guess...

I don't know anyone who doesn't own a gun.

It's generally understood that anyone you meet on the street is packing either on them selves or in their car.

The only time I ever known anyone to be shot, it was a freak accident whill hunting.

He was in a tree stand, aiming at a buck and lost his balance.

Shot himself in the butt.

It's better than the world where a lone gunman can walk into a school and gun down 9 people without anyone to stop him.

It's just commonplace. Raised that way by parents who were raised that way by parents who were raised that way.

It's just part of life.

Check list for the car,

Spare tire

Jack

Assorted tools

Flares

Your favorite side arm or riffle.

Just everyday stuff.

I believe a sad world is one in which an evil person knows exactly where to go and shoot children because the security people in schools can't carry a gun (security?) and not even they're teachers can carry a gun to protect them. You and people who believe like you do are why this keeps happening. Go on and act all superior because you don't think learning to use a gun responsibly is a good thing. I'll continue to believe thinking like yours IS the problem.

My sister was killed by a hit and run driver.  My older brother died in a car accident when he lost control of the car and hit a tree.  My roommate from college died in a car accident when she had an asthma attack while driving.   And those are just the people I was close to - there are more that I knew, just not well.

To me, it's much more odd to know someone who was killed in a car accident. I don't know anyone who was, my parents don't, my aunt and uncles don't...

I once worked with a girl whose step dad died in a car accident. He was killed by a police officer who raced past without lights and sirens, not on the way to a call. He is the only person and I barely knew her, and I didn't know him at all.

I only know 2 killed in a car crash. Both were stupid, freak deaths.

One, she was partially ejected and tangled in the seatbelt. The car rolled over her.

The other was t boned. Seat belt and air bags in effect. She hit her head on the grill of the truck. She had a bruise the size of a quarter on her temple.
