It's a tragedy. Why did this kid have a gun? Where were his parents?
I hate stuff like this because it puts all gun owners in a bad light.
I know a 7 year old that shoots trap. I guarantee he's not going to be the kid you read about that shoots some other kid because he is TAUGHT how to use a gun and what it can do. Obviously, this kid was not.

Well, I could agree with you--but then we'd both be wrong.
And I can't understand that mindset. What is the big deal? People talk like owning a gun is some huge thing to get all worked up about. It's not any more of a big deal than owning a car or a TV.
Because TV's kill you all the time...

GUNS do not kill....people kill people...yes maybe they use a gun, maybe a knife, maybe a hammer, maybe a car...should all of those things be banned because someone *might* use them to kill someone?
Yes. This.
I'm not a gun owner and, frankly, don't want a gun. If I ever get one, I will take training classes in the usage of it. But, I've also never understood the want to ban guns just because some whackaloon murdered people. The GUN is NOT responsible. The SHOOTER is responsible. Aside from freak circumstances, a gun does NOT aim and fire by itself. It's patently stupid to ban an inanimate object just because of whackaloons. Of course, let's not forget that criminals don't give a rip about laws. Removing guns from regular people will ensure that only criminals have guns.
