It's been raining with temperatures around 50 all day.
Time to turn off the air conditioners, turn on the furnace.
Bite your tongue!

We still have the A/C on and I have my fan on in my room.
The units are set to 69/70.
I keep my fan on just about all the time.

Watching a true life crime show. The criminals g/f's name is Uranus Sweet. NOT a stage name. WTF? Who would name their kid that?

I have been fighting some kind of cold since Wednesday.Had a 101.8 degree temp on Thursday, and finally got it down to 100.7 this morning, then 99.7 this afternoon at work by taking Advil. As I type this it is back up to 101.0, so I just took some Advil. I had some brief chills, muscle aches and headaches on Thursday, which went away within a few hours. My sinuses are congested, my eustachian tubes are plugged, my throat is a bit raw and it hurts to swallow, and I am coughing up some dark colored mucus with a lot of blood in it.Was not able to see my doctor today, so went to a Minute Clinic. She did the rapid test for the flu, which was negative (Yes! I did get my shot on 9/18/15 at work). My lungs are clear with normal sounds. She was impressed with my vitals. No difficulty breathing (I do not suffer from any breathing-related illnesses). The NP thinks it is just a bad cold (acute pharyngitis), so all I can do is treat the symptoms. She is concerned about the blood in my mucus, and if I do not improve by Monday, I will see my regular doctor. The NP thinks it could turn into pneumonia. My doctor has not recommended a pneumonia shot for me yet but I am relatively young. Before this, I have not been sick in close to two years. So no socializing with friends for me this weekend. That means no dog time (sigh). Funny thing, though. I have a lot of energy and do not feel tired, fatigued or weak. I just want to get up and go, but I will do my best to stay home so I do not infect others. Looks like the telly and my puzzle and coloring books will be my companions this weekend!
I have OTC and other remedies to be comfortable.I rarely get sick, so I am not very thrilled about it.
On the other hand, some happy news.My 5 months of PT have ended. As soon as I am feeling better, I will start working out at the fitness center at my workplace.Membership for me is free.I would like to get into weight training and work on my whole body with emphasis on strengthening my knee even more. Hopefully I can strengthen my shoulders as well (I have bilateral torn rotator cuffs and would like to avoid more surgeries on the shoulders). I will be meeting with the trainer to come up with a routine that will work for me.
Hoping the Geeks have a safe and great weekend.Take care all.
My child refuses to drink milk out of a cup. Only water. I've been slowly taking away his bottles. Any suggestions?
What we did with DS was once he fully weaned onto whole milk, we put the bottles up and that was that. He was a little over a year and down to 1 bottle (morning) most days (rarely 2 bottles). He missed his morning bottle for the first couple days but quickly got over it.
I would just put the bottles up where your DS can't see them and don't bring them back out. He may or may not have a fit or a few but he will get over it. If he asks for a bottle, tell him he's a big boy and big boys don't use bottles.
