Ok, I was going to put up wooden blinds in DD's room. The window is 36 inches so I thought the 35 inch would fit nicely but it didn't fit because it really is 34.5!!! Grrrr... And, they don't carry 36 inch in the wood blinds. All that I really needed was some type of extender or something on the top part and it would have been fine. But, nooooo, they have these short arse metal brackets that if they just added another inch along the bottom would make it fit easily. Soooo, I took it back and return it and saved $50. I wanted darker wood in 36 inch but all they had was light Oak. I thought of the roller shade but not sure DD wanted so I ended up at Walmart and just got some plain old white mini blinds for like $4. So, I bought them for DD's room and DS's room. There were already metal brackets up on an inside mount so I used those rather than the cheap plastic brackets. Then, I found a nice beige room darkening for our bedroom. Got R Done.

You should come over.  DH did all the chopping for me.  Peppers, onions, garlic...  Yum.  We've sauteed them and now added the meat.  It's almost browned.  Then the seasonings.  Will be simmering soon.  Making some corn bread and baked cinnamon caramel apples for dessert.

I have really great benefits with my new job.  But a prescription I have for my skin has a $100 co pay.  I was floored; is was $25 with my previous insurance.  But I crunched the numbers on all the savings plans (HSA, etc) that my company funds and so even though the co pay is high, overall I am still paying less throughout the year and the HSA pays that co pay.

BTW this prescription shouldn't even be a prescription it should be OTC.  It is not a narcotic, won't harm anything if someone uses it even though they don't have my condition, and it's been around for 40+ years.  Should cost about $5 a tube.  It's one of those items that the FDA keeps as a prescription and makes deals with the drug companies that they can charge high prices for it if they lower the cost of other items.  It sucks, no way we can get healthcare costs under control unless we know what the true cost of items are.

How much is it in Canada? You might want to find out.

The manufacturer might be willing to send you a coupon to lower your copay to $5 . Call them?

You need to get one of the choppers Momala sent me. An hour of chopping to G less than 10 minutes. He may sleep with it tonight.

Hmm may try that Ed.  It is near the end of the year so I do have some benefits to use up.  in the end, it won't cost me anything, but maybe a coupon for next year.

Inventory prep all day today and inventory tomorrow morning at 5 am. FML.

Hello and goodnight. 😴 Off to sleep before I have to get up again.

Oh, this coming weekend my parents are coming to town so it will be nothing but cleaning all week. I am hoping inventory goes well so I can leave early tomorrow and head home to sleep. Then get up and start the big clean. Sigh.

We use to have that happen enough that it became a joke.

Chimney fires and ash fires.

It got to where it didn't even phase us anymore.

We had an ash dump that was supposed to be blocked. The guy that built our deck blocked it with WOOD! Moron....the whole deck and part of the roof was on fire! We were sound asleep (passed out) and would never have known if not for the 8 firetrucks and the captain with an ax at my bedroom window!!!!!

My Windows phone, which I just got back in July, decided that today would be a good day to cannibalize itself. It started draining the battery and running all of my big apps in the background even after I'd turned off the feature to allow them to run in the background. Wound up getting a different GoPhone (an Android this time). I so didn't want to have to do that. I kinda liked my old Winders phone. Well, at least now I have my phone and tablet more or less synced up. The only thing is that new phone is crap for trying to get online and actually SEEING what I'm trying to look at. The old phone adjusted the screen so that the text was readable. This one just has an itty bitty version of whatever I'd see on a computer screen. Bummer.

On the other hand, DH took me to lunch at a favorite Mexican place and I got my Tres Enchiladas that I love so. And a side of heartburn.

That's crazy.

Dad use to take the ashes out and bury them in the garden.

It was never a problem until a wind come up.

It was Sunday, we had eaten lunch and we're napping, watching tv, just hanging out.

I was about10-12. And the neighbor knocked on the door, there was fire everywhere.

Little embers had flown everywhere and caught fire.

DS did me a huge favor today ... took apart my file box. It's amazing how much crap I printed out over the years for game sites that I no longer visit. My living room looks like a paper factory threw up and DS is happily coloring on all the papers. He's also pulling out various manuals for stuff. Some I need, some I don't. Some of the ones I need are now in need of tape. All the actually important papers are in another file box that is inaccessible to DS so no worries about him getting hold of important stuff.

I'm working on laundry. About ready to get a load of the dryer, re-load the dryer, and stick another load in the washer. DS loves helping with laundry so it's going to be easy peasy.

I told Bunny about the tooth fairy today and explained that his teeth would start to fall out soon.
He got really upset and cried. "But what will I do without my teeth? How can I eat food?"
I should have explained the part about getting new teeth first. Parenting fail.no

LOL Don't feel so bad.  SS lost his first tooth with us.  We didn't even know it was loose.  I had put out raw carrots and dip for dinner.  DH didn't want him to eat any.  I said he had to eat a couple.  So he starts munching down and he tells me, "This carrot tastes like a rock."  I look over and he has blood running down his chin.  I scream.  He screams.  I say YOU LOST A TOOTH!  He cries, I want my tooth back!  DH starts whooping.  Kid is getting more and more hysterical.  We were excited.  He was terrified.  Parenting fail.

Sorry, but mini blinds will eventually - usually sooner than later - get bent, and there is no getting them back right. The wood ones don't do that.

I can't think of anything I hate in a house more than mini - blinds.

Sorry, Gaga. I wish you could have found wood ones to fit.

I hate our mini blinds. Our dogs love them. The cords never work like they're supposed to. One never wants to let go. Happens on every window.

I don't have blinds. Never liked them. Any of them.

I like curtains.

I want black out curtains on all my windows.

I have them in the bedrooms.
