I don't get it. It's creepy.

For me it's the characters.  They are well written.  Most are good people in a bad situation trying to survive & you really root for them.  Some you sort of want to see them die.

And that's a good thing? confuse

It's kind of like Breaking Bad.  Great character development, great story line.  I don't know if any show can ever top Breaking Bad.

I liked Walking Dead at first. But then it became predictable.

I don't know how long I'll stay with this one.

As for the appeal, I've always liked the horror/action genre.

Some people have a bad day and eat chocolate.

I have a bad day, I watch scary movies.

It's fun.

But now I don't like the ones like Saw.

I like the ones you know are not going to happen.

What she said!  They're all in a horrible situation and it's about personalities and learning how to cope and survive.  It's why people like Survivor.  Because it's not just a show about being stuck in a difficult time.  It's a show about people and their capacity to grow, learn, love, and do things they never thought they had the backbone to do before they were placed in this situation.  It's about watching people.  And that can be really interesting!

IDK - it's hard to explain.  When one is stupid or cowardly & puts the group as a whole in danger then you want to see them go down.  The preacher guy comes to mind here.  He is constantly doing stupid things like leaving the gate open.  Then there was the Governor who was a very rich character but he was a villain that had to be stopped.  The characters get the audience emotionally invested & I think that is a rare quality in current TV.

I could think of a few people IRL that I wouldn't mind being eaten by a zombie.

HEY FLAN GUESS WHAT I FOUND?  There's a lady in my mom's group selling 43 children's books for $20.  Some of them are classics.  I know there are a bunch there that cost probably $8 on their own.  As soon as I get ready we're going to get them!

I watched both.  The wire was good but I can't remember much about it now.  I loved loved Deadwood.

I just started watching Quantico & Rosewood this season.  Rosewood is sort of like Castle in that he keeps butting into investigations & showing up at crime scenes.  It is a light cop type show.  He is a private pathologist.

All my children's books have disappeared over time. I have a few Dr. Suess ones. My kids remember me reading the books to them. They still laugh about it today. I always made different voices and was very dramatic. I really want to build up my collection again.

Well, yes.  DN and her b/f have been living together for four months now.  She has three semesters of school to go.  They won't get married now because it will affect her funding.  But as soon as she graduates they plan on getting married.  I know they're planning on having kids and they'll both be 30 and 31.  I know they don't want to wait too long.  So yeah, it seems like a long time but it will fly by.

Someone in our town did a hit and run yesterday. They ran a stop light in a school section. The crossing guard was helping the kids cross. The SUV plowed through the red light and the crossing guard grabbed a boy on a bike and pushed him to the side of the road. The bike is mangled beyond repair and the crossing guards leg is broken in three places.

She, crossing guard, got out of the hospital this morning.  Apparently she is going to have to have some corrective surgery.  She is a hero.

BOD? Board of Directors?

Ed, after all my consternation with my PM, I really realized the bolded today.  I am back in the game so to speak, and the PM doesn't matter as much as I gave her to matter.  Everyday the stress goes down.  I like the work, just not the PM.  My boss is obviously pretty great.  He is high level and took the time today to get me set up with a Corporate CC and such, I was blown away since that type of thing is usually delegated to the admin.

So tired. Soooooooo tired. Zzzzzzzzzz

Oh sorry.

I need to clean the house, do laundry, and get to bed on time tonight. My parents arrive Thursday for Parents' Weekend (doesn't matter that they are grand parents) and we will be busy with activities all weekend. My mom calls it the xxschool namexx Olympics. Lol Lots of different events and activities to go see and it's a race to get it all in. Plan your time wisely. Thank goodness I don't have to try and get teacher conferences scheduled like the other parents - I can just hit them up in the dining hall if I want info!

Wow, you all seemed to great days! I am still working, but in my jammies! It has been a pretty good day, getting smarter everyday at work. And my boss is sending me to a BOD meeting next w/e, its for the professional society that I am an officer on the BOD. I am so shocked they agreed to paying the travel expenses!

Good for you!!! I totally understand.

I kind of have a similar situation. All of my peers and our GM think I am awesome but my team does not at all. They hate me. I have decided not to care. They will either get on the bus or get off the bus. I will await their decision and carry on until then.

So you are matrixed in as well?  The pM is not your boss.  Works well when you are good at your job, want to make changes and the PM doesn't like it.

Crossing Guard is a Hero.

The driver deserves prison.

She, crossing guard, got out of the hospital this morning.  Apparently she is going to have to have some corrective surgery.  She is a hero.

 But is the kid ok?

Kid escaped without a scratch.  They are taking up donations for a new bike for him since his is mangled.  I'm sure they will do the same for the crossing guard.
