I think the best way on handling those posters who insult is just to ignore them. I ignore them because nothing I say will change their mind or to agree to disagree. I found that even though I will disagree strongly with a poster I can still like them.

 Well, Lindley, that's all well and good for you - you tend to stay out of controversial arguments.  But, when someone does attempt to argue and they are simply belittled, they tend to provoke those responses.  I do not recall many, if any, times where you were the target of one of these people intending to incite trouble.  It's a little different when you are the one being insulted.

And honestly, unless this person was banned from the board before then what was wrong with them coming back? I had to go back and read all the drama. It was a fair give and take of joe and the board members. This board has a tendency to be very exclusionary.
