It's not even midnight here yet.

Oh well.

May get a pedicure. Need a haircut.

School is on Fall break.

The local country fair is this weekend.

Arts, crafts, foods. All locally made. The cotton gin and corn mill will be running too.

It's a wonderful time.

Might try to go one day.

The fair is here too. But it's so expensive to get in. The mostly have kid rides too. They have the Ferris Wheel but it's expensive to ride. They have two coaster type rides which I don't ride so that leaves me only the Ferris Wheel. Walking around all day would really leave me wiped out. And I'd have to wear the leg braces which make me look like a freak. Doubt we'll be going to that.

I think DH and I are going to make a bunch of dog biscuits this weekend. He's going to help me knead out the dough and I will do the rest. I can roll it out and cut it out. He's really good about helping. We're going to try making pumpkin peanut butter ones.

This one doesn't have rides.

Well. Besides tractor pulling the wagon and the ponies.

No this is a bi-annual event that has been taking place since the 1800s.

See, just a mile from me is one of the first settlements in this area. It was a trade route. The farmers would come from miles around to sell their seed, have it ground, sell their cotton, and visit the general store.

There was a black smith and really good fishing in the river that feeds from the Tennessee river. People came by wagon, boats and foot to do business there.

The fair that happens now is a sort of throw back to that time.

There are tours and demonstrations in the gin and mill.

People set up to sell their wares and goods. Handmade things like quilts, and furniture. Canned and fresh foods from their gardens.

There are games of horse shoes and music.

Some of the best blue grass and country music you'll hear.

It's tons of fun. And admission is around 5-10 bucks, depending on age.

Well, honestly they're made with all human ingredients so you COULD eat them.  DN wanted to know what one tasted like last time I made them and she ate one.  She survived and even said they kind of tasted salty.

Trying to talk DH into going to the Farmer's Market tomorrow. Not sure if he'll go though. And he worries about leaving the dog alone. Especially after she has a seizure.

Why is it that we have to drag Bunny out of bed every weekday at 6:30, but he is wide awake and ready to party at 5:30 on weekends?!
I'm waiting for Husband to wake up so I can have a nap.

When DD was 6 I started letting her get up on her own. Of course she had to announce everything she was doing but eventually she learned to entertain herself quietly. Only rules were no cooking or opening outside doors.

When the kids were little, and able to get out of the crib or bed at 5:30 on weekends, I taught them how to turn on the TV and the VCR, put in a 6 hour Sesame Street tape, and get themselves some dry cheerios and a cup of water.

We made 6 six-hour tapes, so they didn't see the same Sesame Street episodes over and over.

Yep. That's exactly what DD would do.

I'm eating cereal.

I'm watching cartoons.

I fed the dog.

I got dressed.

Same here, and she was really loud at first. Everything she did, she did loudly. But now she's great, gets up, dressed, breakfast, and reads or watches TV until o get up.

My kids too.

Heck when I was a kid, Saturday morning was kid time.

You got your bowl of Froot Loops and juice and parked yourself in front of the tv for cartoons.

Mom and or dad may or may not take a peek to see if you're still hungry around 9 or 10. But other than that, it was all you and your sibling.

My kids learned to get up and do this for them selves.

I would keep easy breakfast stuff for those mornings.

Saturday! Busy weekend getting caught up on all the things that have been set aside. Laundry, filing, shredding, mopping, dusting and organizing.

Need to finish MILs taxes. almost forgot about doing them, it's on extension until 10/15.

Since internship is on hold pending their criminal background check, I will finish homework on Monday. I think what happened at internship is that they never ran a background check on me in the first place. I have a clean record except for a few traffic violations that are more than 5 years old.

The boys have to remain upstairs because the alarm is still on and would set off the motion detector. But they have toys and books in their room. Usually, we all wake up around the same time anyway so it's not a problem. If it's too early, I tell them to go back to bed and sleep a little while longer.

So far, DS is good about sleeping in. He's getting a big boy bed for either Christmas or his birthday so hopefully he will continue sleeping in. We will have to get a baby gate to put across his room door so he can't get out. Though, I wouldn't put it past him to just climb over the gate. He knows how to open doors so closing his door isn't an option.

I hope Bunny gets better! I woke up early to go to the Farmers Market and quickly gave that idea up. I think we were exhausted from yesterday. We were still dealing with laundry from the dogs seizure yesterday when we went to bed. DN called and wanted us to go. DS is on our crap list right now. For several reasons. He's home today after all so we're not alone. We MIGHT go to Sam's. I hate that place on the weekend. But we're almost out of sugar. We don't want to leave the dog alone for a day or so right after she has a seizure. We really need to look into a dog sitter.

We have got to find someone who can come to our house to stay with the dogs if we go out a couple hours.  I know this is crazy but we had gotten to the point where we left the older one out and kenneled the younger two in a kennel together.  They did fine for the longest time.  Now Layla is acting up.  And it's so hard to leave Carlee alone and wonder if she'll have a seizure when we aren't here.  Our dogs are very territorial so we need to start looking for someone and easing them in.  Once the dogs know a person it's okay.  But it takes time for them to get to know someone.

DS forgot to put on his listening ears this morning. 1 hour till his nap time. Can't wait! Watching Megamind till then. DS is going between watching Megamind and "vacuuming" the floor.

DS sold one of his toys a few days ago and got himself a remote-controlled dinosaur. Unfortunately, the dinosaur didn't work so it got returned. Poor little guy!

Spending a quiet day at home so far. Can't visit friends as I still have my cold. It has been 1.5 weeks including 1 week of antibiotics and I still am not well.  This cold is very tenacious. It has also affected my appetite in that I am not very hungry.  I could do without any more weight loss. Looks like a visit to my regular PMD is in order.

I miss visiting with my friends on Saturdays. But I will still have to go out and shop for supplies later.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable day!  smile

Worked 9 hours today, but got it done. I've been "on" since 7 a.m. We didn't have dinner until 7:30. Bad Mommy!

but in between my working we managed to see the newest pup in the hood. She is a corgi. She is only 7 weeks old. Her predecessor was my dog's GF. She is so small she fits in the palm of my hand! Sonny took to her but didn't totally since she is so little, she was so excited to play with Sonny though. It was like watching a toddler annoy a teen! Anyway, it must have reminded him of Katie, the predecessor GF, since all he has done since meeting little Rosie is cuddle in his doggie bed with Katie's blanket.

And tonight is all about watching a movie and chilling.

Have a great night everyone!

I'm sorry about your hubby's car. When we looked at the Scion we ended up going with an Altima which I felt had more interior space and the four cylinder gets good gas mileage.

Anything bigger in overall size probably won't have great gas mileage.

Don't get a mini van.

WI'll it be the primary car? What does it need to carry around? How long do you plan on keeping it?

I like the midsized Ford 500 or Tarus.

The Escape is nice too.

I had a Tarus once. Ran like a champ and got great gas mileage. Super well maintained. Honestly, it was the best car. Until someone ran a red light and smashed into it.

They really are solid cars. Runs like a work horse. Just goes and goes.

The 500 is the same basic car. It was the in between car when they stopped making Tarus and started making them again.

DS got his first doggie today. Remote controlled, not real. It barks, pants, moves its head, wags its tail, plays music, and plays the ABCs. He deafened the surrounding area in the Walmart with a shout of 'DOGGIE!' when he saw it.
