Monday is a holiday for me. I think I'll surprise the boys and take them to the Verizon Center. The Wizards are hosting a practice where we can go for free and there's face painting, autographs from the players, and activities for the kids and the kids can take a turn trying to make a free throw. Then we'll go for a bite to eat. Maybe Chinatown, too, depending on how adventurous they want to be....Mr. FNW has to work so it will just be me and my little men.

I ordered the neatest thing for Itty yesterday (from zulily). It's a name stamper, one of those pre-inked ones. It was only $10.

Doing yard work today. Hopefully, I will get the rest of the Halloween decorations up. This year is the first time in decades that I don't have the holiday off. Instead I get most of Thanksgiving week off and nearly two weeks off at Christmas. I'll take that!

That sounds like fun, flan! I bought name stickers for the boys' clothes when they were in preschool. I still use them for some of their matching clothes because they want to know which one is "theirs".

Afternoon everyone! Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Been busy catching up on chores. Did some shopping, got beef tenderloin for filet mignon for $5.99/lb. Ground beef is around $4.50 so this was a good deal. Need to break it down myself tho. Will probably incorporate the smaller bits for dinner tonight.

I have off Monday since I am in limbo of continuing internship. I will give them until the end of the week then start seriously looking.

flan, at least you are close enough to see Itty bitty on a regular basis.

Wow that is a great price!  I pay about 11.99/lb on sale.

I mowed the lawn, wow is it green and thick  I bought the loaner mower from the repair guy for $75 plus gave him my broken ond.  My broken one ran great but the wheels/axle broke and the parts alone were $150, I had priced them out on line. The mower was 7 YO.  So I have a used lawn mower that had been well cared for and paid only $75.  I thought that was a great deal.  Anyway, I also dug up two arborvitaes that were injured during the winter, I had hoped they would get better but were totally dead by end of summer, so I dug them up and tossed them in the woods.  I removed all the outside hoses and put them away and turned the water off on the faucet on the back.  The front won't freeze so I leave that one on JIC.

I have to take a shower and bring the dog out.

Yeah Walking Dead. Go! It's a boring day here. We have a few things to get done but not much.

jlbear, we're looking at buying a half a cow from a farm near here. It is between our house and SS's house and we see the ad on their fence every time we drive by. They are supposed raise their beef naturally.

I am very upset. We have a dog daycare here in town. I looked up their rules to see if we could take the dogs. They will not take our dogs. They do not take dogs with health problems or dogs who take medicine. Rules our dogs out.

When we were at the vet's we saw a card for a teacher and her son who dog sit. We took one of the cards. I think we're going to call them and explain the situation to them and see what they say.

Shredded 1/2 a laundry basket of paper yesterday, other half to be done later.

Two loads of towels laundry done. Three more of winter clothes and one of sheets to go.

Two of the three tenderloins have been butchered. I have 21 filet mignons and a few pounds that I cubed up. One more whole tenderloin to go.

Now to figure how I want to cook the cubed up parts for dinner tonight.

DH is happy, the Eagles won.

Bunny's fever was 103+ this morning so we went to urgent care. Rapid strep was negative, doc prescribed Popsicles. He's resting now on an elaborate bed made up on the couch.
Fingers crossed Husband and I don't catch this.

I am taking it easy today. Went to chruch, picked up a pizza and I am now watching football. This was a horrible week for me. I worked nearly 70 hours, today is a do-nothing day before another long week starts.

Kids can have a raging fever one minute and a half hour later be running all over the place.

Hope the bug is gone soon.

Monster is getting on my last nerve today.

Dad is trying to fix a drainage problem. So dad has been in, under and all around the house more times than I can count. Monster wants with him, but then he doesnt.

Monster is finally in my lap. Maybe he is just tired of it now.

50 is a normal week for me, I'm fine at that level.  60 is busy, starting to get a little overwhelming, but it also depends how it is split up (if I work a full day on Saturday, it will be a 60 hour week, but its not as bad as staying super late during the week).  70 hours seems to be approaching my "want to cry" level. I survived, and boss-man told me twice on Friday that I did a good job last week.  He left Friday on a 2+ week business trip, that's most of what caused my crazy week.  He told me I could leave early on Friday, but I just had too much to do - actually, his words were "if you were to leave early while I'm gone, that would be ok" so I might try to take an afternoon sometime.

I am now suddenly terrified. Our GM is headed out on a 2 week vacation (well, one week of a conference and one week of vacation) and I am up as the second in command. Its probably going to look a lot like your week.

Glad you got through it. Once you are on the other side, and get some rest and some decent food, it seems like no big deal. But while you are in the midst of it, it can be draining and frustrating as all heck.

oh, there is most definitely a "want to cry" level, you are not alone at that. My closest moment of the week was on Thursday night at about 9:30pm - I had been at work since 7am. I was working on the big corporate power point presentation. And all of a sudden, my computer decided I no longer had permission to save the file I was working on. An hour of work, in danger of disappearing. I was the only person in the building and I almost started to cry, I didn't know what to do and there was no one there to ask. Somehow, a few brain cells were working and I thought to copy all the slides into a new file, and that one I was allowed to save.

MM - you will make it these next couple of weeks. Make sure to take moments for yourself. Even if its just locking yourself in a bathroom stall and taking a few deep breathes. Oh, and a little advice, potato chips are NOT "dinner", no matter what we tell ourselves.
