Vent #1 I am coming down with a cold and feel like poo.

Vent #2 There are two road construction projects happening on my route to work. One is huge and it's a huge mess and going to take at least 18 months. Mornings aren't too bad but afternoons are hell. I can take a different route but it adds 6 miles to my 9 miles trip.
Today There was an accident due to people being impatient with the construction. A very busy intersection has a left hand turn, it had two lanes and now has one and people try to zoom up as far as possible and cut into the turning lane.
It's only going to get worse. They are moving the road so it goes around businesses, the north and south bound traffic will be on opposite sides of the businesses. They are also reducing the width of the lanes by a foot. These people can't stay in their lane as it is. Hurricane evacuations will be insane.

My vent?

Why is it, when I am making banana bread, no one is around.

But take it out of the oven and everyone is there like starving lions?

Agreed. If something you read on the internet is going to ruin your whole week, maybe you should stay off the internet.

My poor little Carlee. The new meds have her so doped up right now. She keeps forgetting where to pee and poop. She also can't walk. Well, she can. Just not well. She falls a lot. Today she fell off the sofa. She was trying to get down and her feet wouldn't coordinate. And the medicine makes her hungry. So she's always eating. Or scavenging. I feel so bad for her.

He just said sometimes it takes awhile to find the right dose. He said sometimes you have to play with the level or combination to find the right one. He added a med to the pheno but it takes about three weeks for the med to get into her system. Right now she's just dopey. And we have a huge storm coming and have to decide if we're going to give her the anxiety med or not. Sigh. The seizures can be controlled. We just have to figure it all out. I just feel sorry for her having to go through this. She tried to eat our sheet the other day!

Thanks. We love her. We would never get rid of her just for this. She's only almost three years old. She has a long life ahead of her. If this were our 14 year old dog it would be a whole different story. You have to weigh the pros and cons. She did nothing to deserve not being helped. She's a sweet innocent dog.

Not everyone gets to live the long life they were supposed to.  I hate that she's suffering.  I hope the docs can get this right quickly - because it's not a good life to live like that for long.

I'm sure a lot of people disagree and would have put her down long before now.  We're not them.  We had the seizures under control for awhile and they came back.  So we'll try something new.  If there comes a day we have no other options then we'll have to make a decision.  That day is not today.

So, like antidepressants for humans. Sometimes you have to play around with different combinations of meds.

It also takes a while to kick in.

Yes!  Exactly!  There's no magic cure.  You have to try things and see if they work and then move on if they don't.  And yes, for anyone who has taken an antidepressant you know you feel worse before you feel better.  It has to build up into your system to get to a therapeutic level in order to work.  We're in the waiting period.  She did this last time.  Confused and stuff.  After about three weeks it goes away.  It's just hard to watch in the mean time.  Until there are no options left we refuse to give up on her.

Thanks. She's getting back to herself more and more each day. We just have to keep our eye on her all the time. The biggest problem right now is her never ending hunger. The other day DH caught her trying to eat a scented candle!

so sad and scary.........

This current administration is doing their best to destroy the livelihood of so so many in our state. The trickle down effect will be devastating not only in my state but so many others....Watch your natural gas SKYROCKET and thank them

thank you, many others have already been laid off, and contractors aren't needed at the mines....

My husband works as a dragline operator at a local mine, and has for 35 years. His mine is fairly secure.....for now.....
I work for a company that provides railroad track maintenance inside the mines (we also do tracks all over, so the mines are not our other customers) My company should get by ok, we are considered critical contractors so it is pretty much business as usual, though of course everyone is watching budgets VERY closely.

I always do my best to keep my political thoughts and feelings to myself. but this is not a Democrat or Republican issue, IT is something so much larger that I suspect many will be clueless til it bites THEM in the backside...and it will. many prayers for the innocent families who are being impacted today...and will be.

One of the platforms O ran on was closing down the mines. He has effectively done that. I'm sorry, but if a conservative gets in this time around, the mines have a chance to re-establish business.

My one foot hurts. I was laid up in bed all day yesterday. I twisted my foot yesterday really badly and couldn't walk most of the day. Today, it's throbbing from the walking I've already done.

 Would an Ace bandage help?

It's a big round blue bump on my foot near the ankle, but not the ankle itself. I don't think an ace bandage will help b/c it's not really my ankle. DH says it's the ligaments in my foot. My whole leg fell asleep while I was sitting at the computer and I didn't know it and when I stood up and put weight on it, my whole leg buckled and my foot went sideways with my weight on it.

That is awesome stuff!  If the skin on your hands has taken a real beating, try covering them with Bag Balm, then wearing socks on your hands overnight.  Works a miracle.

Bag Balm, at least I checked, was in the pet section. In a square can with cow spots on it. They originally used it chaffed udders. Don't know if they do anymore but when I lived on a dairy they did. It's literally named Bag Balm because it's balm for the bag of cows.

I had an ex who installed satellite dishes in winter. His hands were always cracked and bleeding, very painful.

I got him some bag balm and it was the only thing that worked.

Ours used to come in a cow spotted can. But that's the same stuff Welts. I remember that printing on it. I used to watch them put it on some of the cows in the dairy.

Yes, I can unsubscribe. It usually takes months for them to get you off their list, though.

I just wish he'd learn my throw away e-mail, and use that one for stupid stuff.
