Ugh, I feel sickly still and I can't slow down. Things need doing.

And BTW, Flan, She is mad because I won't take her to Barnes and Noble to buy a book that was just released. Walmart has it so I told her to clean her room and we will go. Yep, she was being a brat because she wants to devour another book. Strange child...

 What?

She sees me typing while she is throwing a fit and so assumes I am "talking" about her.  Can you say "self centered"?

Could you hug her for about 90 seconds?

Ha!  I did that and she pretended to hate it!  She is good now, mood wise.  She is a good kid, just going through the normal angst of growing up!

That just means you are doing it right.

Mine did that too at one time or another.

I would say "that's ok. I love enough for both of us."

Of course that made them even more mad but they generally just walked away.

Dammit, Carlee had another seizure while we were taking SS home. First one she's had when we were not here. DS was home though.

A friend came to church with me this morning. I've invited her before, but she hasn't come. I told her whenever she is ready, she is welcome. She texted me Friday and said she'd had a rough afternoon and wanted to come with me today. It was so great to share with her. At one point in the sermon she turned to me and said, I need to do that more...I replied, that's why you're here.

We had communion today, I got to help her take her first communion. It just made me so happy for her.

Sounds like something  my dd would get mad at me about  when  she  was your dd's  age. She loved to read too and still  does.

And the part that stuck with me today which I feel moved to share: God never promised us a rose garden, but he promised he would never leave us.

That is so true. Sounds like the message  not only hit home for your friend  but  for  you  too. I love sermons  like that.

I haven't been to church in a while, but you can't just up and receive communion out of the blue can you? Don't you have to go to confession or something first? Or is that just a catholic thing.

Anyhow, I'm happy for you and your friend.

I don't know if it's just a catholic thing, but that's never how I have taken communion. In the chuch I grew up in and the one I currently attend, the pastor blesses the sacrament and passes it out to anyone that wishes to partake.

Communion is always a very sacred event. At least it has been in both the church I grew up in and my church now.

Being repentant and asking forgiveness for any sin before taking it is important.

But one can do that in their seat, silently, with God.

This is how ours is, as well.  However, when I attend Catholic church - I do not take communion there.

Yes, in the Catholic Church, you may only receive Communion if you have been baptized & made your First Communion.

At any event (wedding or funeral) that non-Catholics attend, the priest explains that, if they wish, a person may walk up to the priest, with hands crossed over their chest, and receive a blessing (in lieu of Communion).
