But the Ten Commandments clearly says Thou Shalt Not Kill.
And yes. I do support the death penalty.
Because the Bible says life for a life.
I'm pretty sure the original document translates to "Thou shalt not Murder", which allows killing animals for food, and killing humans in battle.
and doesn't the Bible include
sacrificing children to God?
Umm.... no.
God did ask Abraham to sacrifice Issac to prove that nothing would come between Abraham and God.
BUT
God stopped Abraham before he killed Issac AND provided a ram instead.
So your little attempt to paint God as a baby killer failed.

Ahhh. So murder in the first two months is ok? I'm not sure just how you justify that to yourself.
Your religion says it's murder, other people's religion doesn't . Comes right back to the issue of whether it's a baby the moment of conception, or when it's taken its' first breath.
Arguing about that is pointless.

She doesn't understand that simple concept.
flan
It seems it's you two who don't understand the concept. Wrap it in any pretty bow you want to killing a baby is killing a baby. At least embrace the depravity without all the excuses.

Absolutely. Know how many murders we've had in the past 5 years? 1. A moral society is a safe society. And killing babies is not moral.
It keeps coming back to the question, When does a fetus become a baby?
One group says "at the moment when sperm meets ovum";
One group says "when it takes its' first breath".
And some people have chosen some point in between.
It's a baby the second it is conceived.
But it really just. . . Isn't. It is a blob of small, rapidly dividing cells. That is it. Hell, at 19 weeks it still looks like an alien life form and not like a human child at all. A child born before 25 weeks has what, an 85 percent chance of going blind? And an almost equally high chance of going deaf? And this is assuming it even survives the first 24 hours.
I view it as a fetus, and a potential baby. I just really cannot picture it as a baby at all until at least 25 weeks. And even that is pushing it.
My twin nieces were both born at 24 weeks. They are now in first grade. They are perfectly "normal" kids. They had to be taken early because they had a rare disease where they were killing each other off in the womb.

This is a 9 week old fetus. On average, sometime between 7 and 9 weeks is when a woman first finds out she is pregnant.

I am sorry, but they truly do not evoke the emotional response that a baby does. They do not look like babies to me.
Now, I have no doubt it would be different if I had known of preemies at around 24 weeks like NJN, but just looking at pictures of fetuses does not trigger emotions in me.
We can acknowledge a "difference" . I don't feel the same about a 90 yr old dying of old age as I do of a young person losing their life in a tragic event. I don't FEEL the same about it. However, those are both human beings at different stages and development of life. We all started at some point. As embryos, fetuses, etc. So, to simply ignore the humanity and just pretend this type of killing isn't wrong makes no sense.

Not asking you to feel any thing.
You said a 19 week fetus doesn't look like a baby.
Well. Unless a person is just plain ignorant, and or willfully trying not to see it, that most assuredly looks like a baby.
May not be the fat, pink, bundle you see a few months later.
But you can not deny that is a human baby

It amazes me. The lengths a pro baby killer will go to just to keep a clear concious.
Using all the separating buzz words so they can keep telling them selves that it isn't a baby.

It's distinctly human and IS a human being. Not sure why that is so difficult for some to understand. I guess we can pretend it's 1974 and we don't know what goes on in the womb. Seems the Left prefers ignorance.
It's like a 3 year old standing in the middle of the living room with his eyes covered saying "if I can't see you, you can't see me".

If you pretend to not see, then you dont' have to act. Once you have information, you have to act on it, either to justify it in your own mind and explain it away or rail against the terrible devastation and butchery of human beings in our own backyard. Or, just pretend and go La, la, la.
That's where all those buzz words come in to play.

I get the plain facts of the matter. But a fetus is not a baby. Even a human fetus. And while I believe it is still worth a great deal, and should be allowed to live out its full potential, and I believe other options should be explored, and yes, abortion is overused and trivialized, I will never be in favor of outlawing it.

And Lily can post photos all day long if she wants to. It's nothing we haven't ALL seen before, but I support a woman's right to choose.

What ever helps you rationalize killing babies, dear.

Dona, my SIL, my brothers wife, got pregnant with the twins. Everything seemed okay at the beginning but they found out early on that the girls shared the same umbilical cord. It's a rare disease that only identical twins have. Called TTTS. When the cells are separating they umbilical cord does not separate correctly. Thus the girls shared the same cord. In Twin To Twin Syndrome one baby devours all the nutrients and the other baby starves. It's dangerous for both of them because naturally one is starving but the other one is growing at a rate that is not normal. The heart, lungs, and kidneys grow too big. They drove to Houston to see if they could do surgery in utero. The doctors decided against it. She came home and they took the babies by cesarean at 24 weeks. Izzy and Abby were born at one pound one ounce and one pound fifteen ounces. So one was almost double the size of the other. They fit in the palm of my brothers hand at birth. They had to stay in NICU for four months because they were so premature. But, had they not taken them, they would not be alive today. They are perfectly healthy girls now. It did take a little while for their motor skills to catch up since they were born so early but at about two they really seemed to blossom and grow.

God gave us modern medicine, and modern medicine gave us the miracle of these two girls surviving and growing.
