This abortion doctor is the perfect example of our degenerate society.

Our collective future looks bleak.

Chef. From what I've read, they wouldn't care.

There was a story floating around once.

Woman goes to the doctor, finds out she is pregnant. She starts crying and asks the doctor to perform an abortion.

He asks why, she then says she has a 5 year old at home and she isn't married and works full time. She can barely make ends meet and another baby would be devastating.

The doctor listens and when she finishes he sits there thinking and says he has a better idea. Better for all of them.

The child at home would be hard to find a home for. He is too old and people want babies. She was working and trying but two mouths were hard to keep filled. And a new baby would be snapped right up.

Yeah. She said.

Doc says, bring me the older child. I'll kill him.

What?!? She wasn't sure she heard him right.

Yes. Bring me the kid. I'll kill him, you have this baby and put 8t up for adoption then you will be free of both.

But, I love my child!

But you said you can't afford him.

We do alright.
But you said....

She cut him off, he is my child. We my not live like kings but I love him. We have a roof over our head, clothes on our backs, food in our mouths. I love him. How could you expect me to kill my child?

The doctor looks at her and says, I don't know, how can you ask me to kill your child?

The woman left the office that day, decided to carry the child and put it up for adoption.

A minister who was also a department head in a hospital (and a customer) told me his version of this ... in 1973.

His version was, a young couple with a 2 y.o. found themselves expecting, and came to him (the minister) for his approval for an abortion. The rest of the story is essentially the same.

My thought at the time was, they went to him because they KNEW a minister would not approve and would try to come up with a better way for them to afford two children.

Really? I know what the minister told them and why.

What did I miss?

He won't get it.  He thinks it's not a baby.  He thinks it's not a life.  He thinks it has no value.

The value of life.

What's the value of a child trying to escape from Syria today?

How about the victims of Genocide in Africa?

To us, pretty much nothing. We don't want them here, and there isn't very much we could do to protect them.

Also, they're mostly Muslim, and we're afraid of them.

Ed, all life has a value, IMHO.

Some people just choose not to place value on life, any life. And, that is what has lead to degenerate thinking.

Ed, I have never wished for death on the terrorists. I think you know that. Unless they are in the act of killing someone else.

I don't put terrorists on the same level as an unborn child. The unborn child will not intentionally kill it's mother.

Intent, ed, intent.

Well, I've wished for death for terrorists.

I do NOT wish for sudden, early death for children, especially since I've seen that in surgery.

I also don't wish for anyone to force their religious beliefs on others. I've seen way too much of that too.

And yet you admitted you watched a doctor let a baby die and walked off and left without a word.

Well. Yeah.

It was just a baby.

No big deal.

Nothing to see.

There was absolutely nothing I could have done.

I was there teaching the clinicians about using the brain oxygen monitor to see when the things they were doing were putting the brain in extreme danger from oxygen deprivation.

This particular surgeon, Chief of Cardiac Surgery, said "everything new is bullsh!t, and get the hell away from me."

Some of his staff members had seen it in other places and were firm believers, but He was In Charge, he was God in that room.

You know how in medical shows they might say, "The patient's been down for xx minutes, we're calling it" because the brain will no longer recover?

What I KNEW from participating in the studies was, if the readings dropped below 40 for more than a minute, there was irreversible loss of short term memory and damage to the part of the brain needed for figuring things out. If the readings dropped to 30 or below, AT ALL, loss of short term memory and the ability to figure things out was 100%.

And the risk of a loss of motor function or speech more than doubled.

This kid's readings had been bottomed-out for 45 minutes when I walked out. Staying was pointless, since the key physicians had already told me and their staff that salesmen are liars and full of sh!t. and anything new is cr@p.

His heart stopped an hour later.

I pulled out my equipment after that.

There are some people who are too arrogant or ignorant to waste time on.

So you didn't report it. You figured no big deal. That death was just nothing. And you certainly didn't want to get in trouble for defending a dead child.

Report it to whom? "No big deal"????? It still eats at me.

Note that what this surgeon did was pretty much standard practice before there was a way to monitor oxygen balance in the brain.

The fact that he rejected the new technology makes him, IMHO, an arrogant fool ... but it's not criminal.

How about the board that licenses doctors. One exists. Always has.
