TIG!! I loves you! I still have your Christmas card by my bed! I think about you and worry about you sometimes.

We actually slept through the night. Not getting any sleep the night before will do that I suppose.
Glad ya'll got some rest.
I take it #2 is feeling better?
I had a rough night cause I am hurting really badly right now.
Spent Saturday in the car riding in the mountains looking at the leaves. So that made me sore. But this front that is going through is making things 10 times worse.
I'm swelled, my joints feel like cement and are burning hot and my muscles are hurting because of being so tense from dealing with it.
But. This too shall pass.

#2 says he feels about the same, but good enough to go to school. He's on antibiotics now for his ear infection, and he's not coughing as much. He really didn't cough until I performed the chest percussion on his right middle lobe. Then he felt something dislodge and come up, which is good. So I think he's on the mend.

Thank you.
And good to hear #2 is on the mend.
I'm probably going to take Aaron to the doctor if he doesn't improve by Friday.
His allergies started acting up a couple weeks ago. His Nasonex was working but it seems something is settling in his chest.
He is wheezing a bit.
If his inhaler doesn't help, it's off to the doctor we go.
It never seems to end, does it?

Glad you are back, Tig! Hope you had a refreshing time away.
FNW, your boys are taking turns with that cold, aren't they. Glad it's almost over for all of you.
Trudy, say "IT'S WEDNESDAY!" and smile. ;)
Good morning flan!
IKWTDS, are you ready for winter?
NJN, are you up yet?
Ed, hope you have a great day!
The sewing machine has been humming here. Mom's quilted placemat is done! And I only cut myself once! Believe me, that's unusual..
The material for a quilted Christmas book, for baby DGS, is laid out. I just need to get my tired and achy body moving. This cold weather is killing my muscles.

Hi Czechie. I've been up for well over an hour now. Ugh. I hope today is better.

Was yesterday a bad day for you!
I haven't had time to read yesterdays daily.
Yes. We have been fighting with our new insurance company for two weeks now. And of course when the hubby is stressed we must all be stressed.

Morning everyone. It is chilly & rainy out there today. It took me three tries to get out the door this morning. First I forgot my lunch, then I got my skirt caught in the door finally made it out, but my misfortune was Desmond's good fortune otherwise he would have missed me & been stuck out in the rain all day.
We're getting rid of the one we have now. Totally worthless.

Hello everyone,
Sorry you are having trouble with the insurance company njn, I know it can be a pain. Hope you get to feeling better lily. I wish I was talented as far as posting pictures on the internet. I saw on facebook the cutest pictures of baby pigs in a basket and thought of flan. I tried to copy it but no such luck.

I have yet to learn how to post a picture, so you're in good company.

We have our little girl here today. Her mother sent her over dirty and sick. She was supposed to be taking antibiotics and when her cough went away her mom stopped them. Halfway through the bottle. I gave her a bath and we gave her some medicine. When I get her down for a nap I'm going to shower.

Although I really need a nap too. Last night was rough.

She should know better than to stop halfway through. I know kids hate to take medicine & it was probably easier than fighting with her but since she broke the cycle taking the second half might not be enough now.
Actually she took the medicine quite well. We were surprised. As long as you let her squeeze the little medicine plunger herself she took it fine. She's mad at me now. She said she was hungry so I fixed her lunch. I gave her some applesauce which she usually wolfs down. She used it to draw pictures on her high chair tray. We left her in there awhile and she was just playing so we took her down and said it was nap time. Then she said she was hungry and wanted to eat. We told her no she had had her chance. So she just started crying. DH and I told her she could stop crying because she didn't have a choice. That's how OUR house works. In her house I think she has a lot of choices. At two. The other day her mom told her to come here so she could do her hair. She slapped her mom in the face.
And... In the time it's taken me to type out the paragraph she's fallen asleep.

My 7 year olds think they get a lot of choices, too. I think it's what they teach them in school/preschool. I know so called experts say to give them choices, but to limit it to two. DH always gave them choices which drove me nuts. He still does when it comes to breakfast. I can kind of understand, because they aren't usually hungry for breakfast but need to eat something before they go to school, so it's easier if they pick out something they feel like having. On weekends they ask me what's for breakfast, so they know there are times when they don't get to choose.

Her mom needs to get a handle on that right now. I would have been a lousy parent I'm sure but I probably would have smacked her right back. I know time out is probably a better option but I think the shock value of the slap might get her attention better.
My friends 2 year old is a little bit handsy as well. I usually catch her by the wrists and say NO! really loudly. Then she goes and hits her sister instead. I figure that the parents get to deal with that.
It's good to be back Geeks, and I'm sorry about all the sick little ones kicking around. I did have a good break. It was the annual seminar at school, so it was hard to be online. It was great to see all my real-life peeps that I generally am only around online, however. We stayed in the southern parts of one of the more red-neck areas of the country. Mormon country, which is like Amish country, if the Amish had technology but no coffee. Every morning was a race out the door . .. being super polite to our hosts (who were the parents of a colleague) while also trying to get into the car as fast as possible to get into the city to the nearest McD's drive through so that we could get $1 coffee. I also learned a lot about quilting and about how hard it is to control my language. I thought I was doing really well, and my friend look over at me (with a little disappointment) and said " you dropped at least two 'oh my God's' in front of my mom last night . . . ."
I was thinking . .. IT COULD HAVE BEEN SO. MUCH. WORSE!!!
Paradoxically, all of the reading material next to my bed was rather explicit Western-style (like cowboys and cowgirls) romance novels . . . .
When I first moved to what I considered the Bible Belt (WV from So. Cal) I learned to clean up my vocabulary. Now I just say damn instead of sh*t or fvck.
Last night, DS discovered that Mommy doesn't say "it's hot, don't touch" for her health. DH was pulling the chicken out of the oven and DS flew into the kitchen to help push the rack back in. I yelled NO! and DH's name because I knew I wouldn't make it in time. DH missed grabbing him by a split second. DS has a blister on the palm of his hand. Poor kid but he's given the oven a wide berth ever since.
I know it's neither of our faults and I know DS will be ok. We're keeping his hand doctored.
Caitlyn was trying to help my mom iron when she was about 2-3.
Mom missed her by a hair as she placed her open hand on the hot iron.
I heard both of them shriek and about lost my stuff.
Spent the evening in the ER.
You ever see a toddler tripping on demirol?
It was horrific.
I have a picture of her with her hand bandaged up.

I thought I might get away with "oh my Hell", but apparently you can't curse the devil either. So I was stuck with "oh my goodness" or anything else that Little Orphan Annie might have said. It didn't work so well . . . Which reminds me . . . I have to send thank you cards today . . .
Sometimes they'll only learn the hard way, chef. Hope his hand heals quickly.
#2 is a toucher.Has to touch everything. Fortunately he is older now and respects the range, but when he was younger, I gated him out of the kitchen.
This is DS. He burned his fingers on my griddle awhile after grabbing it even though he was told not to and physically moved away from it multiple times. But no, he lunged for it as I was moving him away from it yet again. Burned his fingertips but no blisters.
The way our kitchen is set up doesn't allow for a fixed gate but we used one of those play yard gates (I call it a flexi-gate) till he figured it out. We're also in an apartment so we're limited on what we can do.
I'm surprised we haven't been to the ER with him yet. He has no fear and is 100% rough and tumble boy. His legs have had at least one bruise on them at all times since he's figured out that he can run instead of walk. I'm thankful he seems to be ambidextrous. He hasn't shown a clear dominance for either hand and will frequently switch hands back and forth while eating, coloring, etc. It's his right hand that's burnt so he's been using his left hand to do stuff while holding his right hand out.
My SS went through a phase where he was nuts about fire and hot things. He messed with a candle at one point and spilled hot wax down DH's leg and got his azz busted. One of the few times I've seen DH go after him. Another time he touched the burner on the stove even after we had told him not to a million times. He had a little tiny blister. Then lastly he just HAD to see how hot the coffee was when it came out from the Keurig and stuck his finger under the stream. Not hot enough to leave a blister but hot enough that when he stuck his finger in it his finger stayed red for about three days.
