You give as good as you get.

 Actually, I ignore he/she/it.

Actually, you don't ignore tiny.

I wish you would!

You go out of your way, to belittle her opinions, any chance you get, flan.cry

She does the same with mine and I haven't actually engaged Flan but once she she returned from her ban.

So. What source should we be considering?

I think you should be considering the idea that her background (and mine) is/are very different than yours.

It's like me and Husker: I value his opinions on a lot of things because his background and frame of reference are very different than mine, so his perspective is often very different, and his ideas may include information and opinions that I have never run across elsewhere. That can be food for thought and very educational.

The possibility that he insults people is irrelevant.

So the victim gets to follow around and cry foul even though they are not being talked to at all?

I mean really Ed, that's not how a victim acts.

That's how a bully acts.

Constantly quoting and taking jabs even though they haven't been addressed at all.

You go on and keep saying "oh my past" if you want. But you are the only one responsible for your here and now.

Yes, but the older ones are more likely to come back two or three times for another "treat".

This is getting way too routine for my town.

From the local newspaper.

One person was killed and another three injured in two separate shooting incidents in Beaufort late Friday night and early Saturday morning.

The first shooting happened at around 11:30 p.m. Friday in the parking lot of the IHOP at 266 Robert Smalls Parkway, according to a Beaufort Police Department releaseWhile officers could not locate a victim on scene, a man with a gunshot wound to the head checked himself into a local emergency room soon after the shooting.

Witnesses reported an argument in the IHOP parking lot before the shooting, according to the release.

The victim was transported to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. His condition is unknown.

As of Saturday morning, police had no description of the suspect.

At about 12:13 a.m. Saturday, less than an hour after the IHOP shooting, Beaufort Police responded to reports of shots fired at the Elks Lodge at 809 Church Street.

When officers arrived, they found "numerous vehicles leaving the area and blood and shell casings on the street in front of the club," according to a department release.

Three victims were shot, one fatally.

One of the survivors was transported to MUSC. It is unclear what medical attention, if any, the other survivor required.

Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.

DS must've tired himself out good last night at the Fall Festival. He slept for an extra 2 hours this morning. He did his best at the games and cheated at some (like putting the frisbee through the hole instead of aiming and throwing it through the hole) but he got candy anyway since the games were 'for fun' and not 'must get a certain score to actually win' games. Some games he was able to play correctly, like Spin the Wheel (he got the top prize in that one - an ice cream bar) and Plinko (he got a score of 10 so he got 10 pieces of candy). They had a fishing game in which the kids cast their hooks over a wall and someone on the other side put some candy on the hook. DS' face lit up when he brought his hook back over wall and there was a bag of M&Ms attached. He loves M&Ms! He managed to fill up half of his bucket with all the candy he collected. The highlight was the pony rides. If DS smiled any bigger, his face would've cracked! He absolutely loved the pony ride. The people in the area watching the pony rides all commented on how big his smile was.

My bad hip and knee are both pissed from all the walking last night. I'm so glad that I brought my folding chair so I could sit when needed. More trick-or-treating tonight. I bet I won't be able to move tomorrow.

Oh get this. MIL commented on the pic of DS in his costume. She said he should wear it for t-or-t. Yea, well, talk to your husband because HE is the one with the bias against the costume.

I loved bringing the kids to those festivals when they were that age.  So much fun for them.

I love having a kid to bring biggrin

I used to bring my cousins to these events but they aged out of them.

I'm the weirdo that stops in a parking lot and picks up a penny.  I give them all to SS.  Between tooth fairy money, money he's gotten for things, and the change I give him he has over $50 in his piggy bank.

 Welcome to the club!

I pick up pennies too. Free money!

Sometimes, when I'm rolling coins, I'll be a penny or two short so I take a walk and often find enough pennies to finish the roll.

There were two ladies on the news once. They picked up every coin they saw on the ground. They put it in a special piggy bank. In one year they saved $55.

I save change too. Remember I'm the one with the vacation pickle jar full of change.

But when I was a kid, 9 cents would have gotten your house put on the no go list.

Well, by it self, granted, not much.

But, I have $220 dollars rolled in quarters, dimes and nickels, from the past 6 months.

Just change that we throw on the counter.

And, a jar full of pennies, that will go to the coin machine. (I won't roll pennies. It takes too long.) wink

Back when I was about ten (when Coke only came in a bottle) we were out trick or treating. We knocked on this guy's door, I think he was probably a young single guy. And was like "Oh it's Halloween? Hold on." So he comes back and drops a bottle of Coke in each of our bags. We were so excited until we realized that we had to carry that stupid thing around all night. Looking back I think the guy was probably high.

Spouse decided on the amount per kid. She says if we give them too much, they'll keep coming back.

I want to give them the value of one of the small candy bars that are packaged for Halloween, which I figure is a quarter.

She said it won't make any noise going into their bags.

She puts a lot of time into counting out the coins into little paper cups, figuring we might have 100 kids come by ... It makes her feel useful.

We're now at 12, and now the porch light is off.

We saw 11 little ones and 1 teenager (with her father).

My great aunt and uncle on my dad's side gave my cousins and I a single silver dollar for Christmas each year.

I had no idea what we were really getting at the time.

It was just a dollar to us. We generally spent it the next day at McDonald's.

Actually, you don't ignore tiny.

I wish you would!

You go out of your way, to belittle her opinions, any chance you get, flan.cry

And referring to a person as an 'it' isn't insulting? Really, Flan?

I agree with FWM.

 Bully for you.

flan

You really should learn how to debate like an adult flan. You sound so much like a petulant child.

Ok so it is technically only 9:45? My back hurt, ToT is over, DD is in bed. Dog walked. Sigh... I am wide awake.

Just ignore the BS, people. Ignore it and it will go away. It does not really fvckng matter. Too much bull**** going on around here.

We had well over 200 ToTers tonight. We stopped at 200 and there were at least 30 more than that. Neighbor had Jell-O shots, we had alcohol fruit bites plus the drinks. We had a ver successful Halloween. I cannot tell you how much fun we had. It was a good time by all.

We don't have pennies in Canada anymore. Ed's wife's whole plan would have been shot!
