It isn't that easy to plan a trip to somewhere you have never been. After you have been there, then yes. But, if you haven't, there are a bazillion options and plans and so forth.

There are more Disney chat rooms, sites, books, etc. than any other vacation destination out there. My personal favorite is easywdw.com. I wouldn't dream of planning a trip to Disney without consulting its crowd calendar. No way, no how.

I know. There is a ton of info. At some point, you just make your plans and go with it. We really enjoy Discovery Cove. I thought that was awesome.
I use to live not to far from Disney Land.. In the fall corporates would rent Disney after hours for their employees (in oct Disney closed at 7:00) my sister worked for one and we got to go on all the rides without huge lines. That was many years ago though.

I liked Disneyworld--Disneyland, not so much. Still wouldn't take a toddler there, though. From about 8-12 is a really good age. Old enough to get on all the cool rides, but still young enough to enjoy the Disney "magic".

Well, I could agree with you--but then we'd both be wrong.
Some good rides and their times (at the lowest "crowd level", followed by the highest "crowd level") from that chart are: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad - 16-35 minutes and 72-120 minutes, respectively Haunted Mansion - 13-35 minutes and 52-90 minutes, respectively Space Mountain - 13-64 minutes and 96-175 minutes, respectively
I think I have to agree with huskerbb and say 10 minute waits isn't reasonable to expect.
That seems about right.

I was at a trade show in Orlando and one of the dealers had to take an account to Disney. Ok, the young fun buyer was picked. I was tortured. Expensive? Those mutant turkey legs? Yikes. I last 3 hours. And said lets just go drinking. Tell your big bosses thanks. Buh bye!

Well, you can drink at Disney. That is a plus.

I love, love, love, love, LOVE Disney. And I got to have breakfast with Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, and Tigger. It made me happy.
And just FYI - Lily and I have different Disney travel styles.
How do you do things?
I know I will never again go unless I can stay in the resort.
It just isn't worth it if you have to stay outside the resort.
To me anyway.
I've always had a dream of living in one of the Disney communities.

LOL! True, we left though. Me and the dudes from Oakley stuck out there. We found a sh!thole and drank there.

Disneyworld but not inside Disneyland, except the exclusive 33 Club. You have to go outside the park or CA Adventure.

We always stay in the resort, but we NEVER do the parks with the extra magic hours that day. Those parks are busiest that day. For Magic Kingdom, we schedule breakfast at the Crystal Palace before park opening so we are already in the park, and have a head start when the rope drops. We plan our fast passes, and we schedule time in to go to shows so that we have down time. We do not go back to the room to rest, but do sit down character meals that usually last a couple of hours and saves having to wait in line to meet characters in the park. We also have our favorite "down time" attractions in the park - The transit authority in Tomorrowland, and if it is hot, we do the Carousel of Progress as a rest b/c it's air conditioned. There is no line for that ever.
We also don't ever feel rushed to get to the park, and leave for the evening when we are tired. So many people just want to squeeze too much in. That just makes for frustration and exhaustion.
If we are in Orlando when it is fall, but not staying at Disney b/c we are there for SeaWorld or something, we usually do the Halloween party at the Magic Kingdom one night. The ticket is less, and even though you are only going for the evening, there are NO lines. It is wonderful. And that party has the BEST fireworks.
We think Disney is about a lot more than the rides.

Caitlyn and I did the Princess breakfast. That was nice.
I want to do the vilians breakfast.
Truth is, the only wrong way to do Disney is in a hurry.
