Morning.

When starting a thread, there is a "tag" space.

I am hungry this morning. Usually not this early.

Happy Tuesday!

It's foggy again, but it should burn off by 10 am.

Another beautiful fall day, in North Texas!smile

Another beautiful fall morning here today! Sounds like it will be much cooler by tomorrow though.

Today is a dash day. Dash here, dash there, ... I think you get the idea.

Morning everyone. It is a gorgeous day here too. I actually ran an errand before work. I ran by the vet to get more cat food.

It's still foggy out.

And there is a new dog next door. He's barking at everything.

Sounds like a small dog.

I really want to have a house in the middle of a 100 acres. So I can't hear the neighbor's dogs, or their cars or conversations or farts.

Morning all! Nice day. Supposed to warm up to about 70 degrees today and I am inside finishing up schoolwork.

I bought several butternut squashes yesterday to make a few batches of soup. Let's see if I get motivated to actually do it today. Must mop the floors today no matter what.

jlbear your soup sounds wonderful!

We need dog food too. Our dogs are getting so picky.

I had parent/teacher conferences today. Both boys are doing great. No concerns.

Beautiful day here, and will have above average temps all week.

Anyone want a husband and son? One is being annoying and the other is on time out for kicking me in the face in anger. Free to a good home.

I should get off my duff and re-organize the hall closet but I will probably remain on my duff and hang out with DS.

DD11 got her first bad grade last week and she is devastated. She says she understood it, so doesn't understand how she did so badly. Can't wait to see this test.

Update on DS' hand: Today marks one week post-injury. The dead skin peeled off yesterday. His hand is raw-looking but it doesn't bother him unless something puts pressure on the burned area. We're keeping it clean and bandaging it when we go out. He's aching to go on the playground but we don't want sand getting into the wound since the new skin isn't fully grown in yet.

He's went from avoiding the oven to grabbing a hot pad before touching it. It hurts my heart that he had to learn this lesson the hard way but at least he learned it.

MIL was horrified to see DS' hand when we there on Halloween. FIL accused me of burning him on purpose. I rolled my eyes and told him to shut it. DH told him off. DH was amazed I didn't go off on FIL. Eh. I refuse to play his game.

No thanks, but I empathize Chef. Dh has three day weekends (which I love spending with him) but by Tuesday I am really enjoying the quiet, almost empty house.

And DD1 has been clingy and whiny for the last few days and just went down for a nap, so no trades for me right now!

This is the worst. When you know the material and still don't do well. Perhaps the grade was in error?

Uh. Wow. I am surprised you didn't go off on him either. Or picked up DS and walked out. Your FIL sounds like a piece of work.

ETA: I am glad his hand is better.

No thanks to the husband.child offer. This house has enough men. Sorry your DH kicked you in the face.

Thanks :) I don't know what is going on with her. She doesn't want me to put her down. Like at all. And she is wanting to nurse all the time. She is 16 months old and usually only nurses before nap and bed, so I am thinking she might not be feeling great.

He is a piece of work. That's why I didn't go off on him. He thrives off getting a rise out of people. I refuse to indulge him. It takes a good deal of restraint and I don't always succeed but I try my best to just ignore him and his inane comments.

Also, in some ways I pity him. It's got to be awful to be so miserable to feel the need to make snide comments to people.

 Clean? What's that?

Our current apartment has wood floors. So much easier to clean up the mass of debris that DS leaves in his wake.

well...apparently it is the house is just like I left it when I head to work, well unless Sara or Box mix is able to drag all her toys out before I out her in her downstairs pen (IT is huge so no worries of it being tiny) and she has a doggy door. Otherwise, it is quiet and just as I left it...which is good and not so good. Kids used to take trash out, keep laundry up etc. but all in all I am liking it~

my oldest is 28, will be 29 in January and my youngest is 18, with a 24, 22 and 20yoa squeezed in between them, so I have been on active mom duty for several years, I am liking this new mom duty, that I get to sit back and watch and listen. yes share, but my days of actively teaching and hand on parenting is in the past. I am blessed to have really good strong relationships with all five of mine and a mutual respect so we can share and learn from each other, but they all made it to 18 in one piece...so I say that part of momhood was a success LOL

I am right about there with you.

My kids are 21, 18 and I17.

I have completely enjoyed every age and stage with them.

Even the hard times.

DS will be 2 in December. He's a fun kid but boy does he have a hot temper. His favorite pastime is giving me frights. He especially loves repeated jumping over the arm of the couch.

My family says I was just like him at that age. Yay? :P

LOL I have heard that myself, I surely cannot believe it   I was NOTHINGGGGGGGGGG like that ha ha

My DS24 sent me something I think he found on social media

it was about parents wishing the same kind of kid they were on them...then all this laughter etc., as we parents forget we will be babysitting those grandkids LOL

but I have really found (as mom used to tell me and I never believed) it truly is different with grandkids

Not better or worse, just different.

But I am loving it

My house smells good too. I made chicken stock this morning and butternut squash soup that was supposed to be for dinner.

We had Chinese instead.

I have a disassembled fire truck sitting on half my lap. It's a fire truck that folds out into a race course of sorts. DS is busy turning all the wheels and pushing his ball on the ramps and roads.
