 Thank you chef, I'm actually  feeling  better and I   hope to get some answers  too. I'm not worried  about any pain. I'm taking  njn's advice  and I have ice cream  on hand.

When I had contact lenses, my distance vision was wonderful ...

but I needed reading glasses to see the dashboard.

I did find lower-half reading glasses, which solved it for me, until my dry eyes made me give up using the contact lenses.

 

 Get Lasik on only one eye. That's what I did. Worked out great. I read with one eye and drive with the other.

One eye doctor got me contact lenses like that, one for distance vision, one for closer stuff. 

It drove me BONKERS.

I hated it.

DH had Lasik a few years before I did, and they did a similar thing, ed.

I am so clumsy that there was no way I'd ever consider getting that done.

Both of my eyes are fine with distance & I wear readers for close work.
