Morning.

Never had one.

Guess I should.

It's raining again.

I've been up for about 20 minutes, is it nap yet?

Don't drink coffee or caffeinated drinks the morning of a mammo either. Good luck on yours! I'm due, too. I'm due for a colonoscopy and wellness exam, too. I spend so much time taking the boys to their doctors that I'm burned out on exams.

Yesterday the school puts on an assembly honoring our Veterans. Children are encouraged to have their friends, parents, or Vet. relatives to attend and speak in the classrooms about their experiences. A group of Veteran singers perform, accompanied by a military band, the hymns from each branch of the military and other patriotic songs. Parents who are serving overseas skype with their families on the whiteboard in the gym. It's quite an event. It got even more interesting yesterday when apparently one of the singers collapsed. Luckily he was on the bottom bleacher and grabbed on to people he was next to who were able to break his fall. #2 (who wants to be a doctor) was in the front row and saw it all. There were medical people there who were able to assist until the paramedics came and transported him to the hospital. I have been told he will be okay.

#2 gave me a blow by blow description of the event, and was not scared at all (though some of the girls in his class were), and #1 said he prayed for the man. Never a dull moment.

I am awake. That is quite an accomplishment. I was forced to watch two stupid movies DH picked out plus about seven hours of FOX news where they all said the same thing. Then I got to binge watch all my tv. So I was up till four and back up at eight.

FNW, that was a very interesting Veteran's Day event for your sons. Glad your son had so much compassion for the man that collapsed.

Our day started at 5 a.m. with a call from DD saying her youngest DS was throwing up. Yup, he is with me since mom had to work despite having a sick little boy. His temp is now down to 100.6 and he is still sleeping. Hopefully the throwing up part of his day is over. Poor kiddo.

So, I am homebound for the day. Hmm, maybe I should do some more quilting. I am getting behind.

I wish the wind would go down, good gosh, hang on to your hat out there!

Hope everyone is having a great Thursday!

Aw, poor guy, Czech. I hope he feels better! I bet your daughter is so grateful he can stay with grandma when she has to work.

DD1 has had a fever since last Saturday, but the last few days she has woke up without one and it climbs throughout the day until it's too late to get her into the doctor. It's doing the same thing today, so I put a call in to the Ped, hopefully she calls me back.

This has been a bad few months for illnesses in my family.

She's been getting a fever every day since Saturday? That's not good.

Hope your Ped calls back.

I would be, too.  But nice that you are taking her.

My parents used to watch the boys when they were sick.  But then my father caught pneumonia.  I thought we were going to lose him.  Ever since then, I will stay with the boys until everyone is healthy and no longer contagious.  My parents are pushing 80 though.  It takes them longer to heal from simple colds or viruses.  I am lucky to have enough leave on the books to be able to do this.

I can't wait for tomorrow. Will finally - finally! - get to see DS for the first time since last Wednesday. The angio site is still a little sore but the stiffness is mostly gone. PCP checked it yesterday and said it looks good. I will have to be careful with it through the weekend but my arms are aching to snuggle my little boy.

DS has been having a grand ol' time with his Great-Grandma and Great Uncle though. He's been to various restaurants, the play area, a carousel, and all over their complex. Spoiled lil butt, lol! I'm glad he finally got to ride the eagle on the carousel though. The last time we were there, the eagle was out of order.

He found out his Great Uncle doesn't put up with tantrums. They took him to eat and he acted up so his Great Uncle took him out to the car and put him inside then stood right by the car while he calmed down. I was told it took him a few minutes but he finally patted the window and indicated he was ready to behave. And he did too. I had to laugh when my Grandma told me this because DS knows darn well that tantrums in a restaurant are not tolerated.

I found that the more attention a child gets when he's misbehaving, the longer and more intense the tantrum. Even now, a firm "no" then a subject change tells them it's not negotiable.

I'm home sick, again. Three weeks of this cold/sinus infection, halfway through my second round of antibiotics and I am still coughing all the dang time and I sound like a toad. I got sent home from work yesterday.
It makes the patients nervous to hear me hacking away at the front desk. Can barely talk on the phone anyhow. Insert additional whining here.
This Saturday is the big day! Husband's aunt is going to marry her partner of twenty years!
I am looking forward to that! They are really nice people and super fun to hang out with, I'm sure the wedding will be great.

So, I've re-booted the Meanwhile . . . In Canadian Politics thread away from battling between Nations to admiring the amazingness that is our new First Family. And of course, the fact that it has been internationally recognized that we have the Prettiest Leader in the History of Political Leadership.

Enjoy the read. And don't fight while looking at Justin. thank you.

I got quite the lecture from a nurse a few years ago when she read "never" for my last mammogram. At the end she asks me, and what reason do you think is good enough to ignore this? I just looked at her and said I'm 30 with no family history, is that a good enough reason? In her haste to lecture me, she totally missed my age.

So many sick people! Chef I did not know you were in the hospital. Glad things are going well.

I have been working so much, not much time for GT!

So I had another run in with the PM, She actually screamed at me yesterday, I was working from home so it was over the phone. I was so rattled. I am used to dealing with difficult people but screaming???? given her age, my take is she is menopausal. I had reserved myself to being fired, although PM is not my boss.

My boss is looking for a new program for me to go to, he was surprised when I called him today to tell him the latest run in. I told him I was not complaining but wanted him to hear it from me, and not anyone else. He told me my call was the first he heard of it. I was surprised PM hadn't called him. Then I find out that she had been dragged into corporate and given the riot act over the attrition in her program office due to her behavior. WOW been there only 4.5 months and they support me fully. I feel so good today. Such a roller coaster ride though.

Anyway, tomorrow in my Friday off, I have some easy catch up work to do in the morning and then I will be off.
