So did cars cause the ice age? Or maybe deodorant caused the floods that wiped out the dinosaurs. Lord knows there were no climate catastrophes prior to Aquanet hairspray.
The dinosaurs had a spontaneous and choreographed collective dump and flatulence and that knocked the earth into the ice age, didn't you know that?

How do you know?
No evidence. No proof. Unlike climate change.
Stay on topic. We are talking about Global Warming, not Climate Change. Two different things. Climate change is real and has always been real. From the beginning of time. Man made Global Warming? A farce made up by lefties to control stupid people.

Global warming is a farce.
There is nothing humans do or don't do to accelerate or slow it down.
The argument that humans have that much authority over the earth is ludicrous. And arrogant.

Floods? What floods?
You think dinosaurs were wiped out because they didn't make it onto the Ark?
Climate change has been ongoing since the earth was formed. It will continue long after humans are gone. Why people think that will change is beyond me.
Global warming is a naturally occurring event. Both poles were ice free at several point in earths history. It will happen again with or without human activity.
There have also been 3 snowball earth events. Who or what do they want to blame that on?
Heck, when Yellowstone explodes you can wipe North American life off the world map. And THAT will not be caused by humans.
The fear mongering is all about power, money and control. World control, period. There is a world dictatorship just around the corner, IMHO.

Faith isn't something that keeps bad things from happening. Faith is what helps us get through bad things when they do happen.

I want to know if we are ok with prosecuting people because they are not part of the group think?

How do YOU?
Oh, that's right...the Bible tells you so.
flan
That's one way. However, even if I don't truly "know", I'd certainly rather err on that side and be wrong than the other way around.
If I'm wrong and we are all just worm food--so be it. Everyone dies and that's it. Theres no real down side to having believed in what I do.
But...
What if I'm right? The down side of not believing in that case is really bad.
So, I guess I should pretend to believe, just to be on the safe side.
Who said anything about pretending. It's about opening your mind.
Ok. How about I open my mind to Buddhism? Or does "erring on the side of caution" only apply to your particualr deity?
Obviously you don't know what opening your mind actually means. Small views certainly have their place but believing there is more beyond YOU might be a concept that is difficult. Even though you think my stance is wrong for you doesn't mean you know what's true. Luckily my beliefs offer comfort whereas yours offer what exactly? Wormfood? Nothing? What do you actually believe happens when you die? I'm hoping I know where I'm headed, do you?

Is that what you really believe? You still didn't answer my question. What do you believe happens when you die? This is what makes me curious. I'm not sure your reality is comforting at all. Being human I am curious as to what will happen when I die. God is the most comforting thing the universe was ever created for. Enjoy your life on earth because then what...

Oh, you know it is 'false comfort". You say the religious can't know and talk with assurance, but now you are going to talk with the same assurance and declare No God? So you have traveled the universe, heavens and Earth and can declare No God. Wow. Your arrogance is astounding.

What happens to me when I die? The same thing that happens to the cows we slaughter for food or the ants we step on. Nothing. I suppose I'll be converted into some sort of energy, just like all things that die, but I will wink out of existence.
Is it comforting? Not in the least, but that's what I believe. I'm not going to kid myself into thinking I'll be immortal if I just play my cards right, that if I really, really behave, I'll hook up with all my loved ones post-mortem.
I do try to enjoy my life on earth, because I firmly believe it's the only one I'll have. You asked.
