Martina McBride - I Hope You Dance.

I love that song.  It always reminds me of my daughter. It came out the year she graduated from High School and going to college. It was My hopes for her and of course my son too.

Or that it is a Bible verse, twisted by the devil and used by the faithless so they can feel better about their choices?

Lol!

Yes, the Devil made me do it.

Don't laugh, but I just heard another one-a Taylor Swift song. It's so sad. Ronan's Song. She wrote it with the mother of a young boy who died of cancer. I'm getting worked up just thinking about it.

Is there ANY thread we can have without people turning it into a argument about religion? Seriously? A song thread and you have to argue about religion?

Well, all I did was post a song I like, when Tinydancer lit into me. Maybe you should take it up with her.

Christmas is a very generic holiday to many people. Yes, I understand the CHRISTIAN meanings. But there are probably millions of people who celebrate it and for them it has nothing to do with God. Please don't preach at me and tell me what a jerk I am. I am not judging just stating a fact.

And Christmas IS supposed to be about generosity and kindness and love and many other things.

Christmas is about Christ - so it is the very last time of the year EVER that people should be complaining about religion being shoved in their face.  If you want to celebrate a Christian holiday without being Christian, and do it with a kind and generous heart, I have no problem with that - but DO NOT COMPLAIN that you have to deal with religion at that time of year.  That is hypocritical beyond reason.

Yes, I understand that.  I have no problem at all with what you said.  None.  Zip.  Zero.  But there are tons of people who celebrate Christmas without celebrating Christ who don't bitch and moan about everything.  It's the few who do that ruin it for others.
