Thanks for that huskerbb. I needed a good laugh. The United Church of Christ isn't Christian. That would be news to them.

 Doesn't matter if it's news to them.  The JW's consider themselves Christian, too--but again, there are certain beliefs you need to have to be a member of any religion, and if you don't hold them, you aren't a member of that religion.  It's not self labeling.  Christianity has been well defined for centuries.  Sure, someone can come along and start their own religion and believe whatever they want.

 

also, I looked it up, and the United Church of Christ does believe In the triune God, so they are Christian.  I was going by the false information you gave me when I posted that.

When you go to the UCC website and go to the page titled "about us what we believe" this is the first statement on that page word for word:

We believe in the Triune God.

I should have looked at it before I responded the first time, but I was assuming you knew what you were talking about. Mistake on my part in that regard.

My apologies if there was an error.

It was listed that way, as them not believing in the Trinity, on a Google search result link when I entered something like "Denominations that do not believe in trinity", yesterday. The results included the expected Jehovah's Witness plus Christian Scientists and United Church of Christ.

Having myself gone to the UCC website as you did I see that that other site was wrong.
