I'm having DH put the trees up today. I won't decorate them until the day after Thanksgiving, but I want them up and lights on. Now. I'm so ready. I ordered a new one for the dining room which will be delivered Tuesday so we'll have to wait for that one. But the one in the living room and our bedroom is going up today. The small ones around the house can wait until next weekend.

They are too fun to wait for me. I love the whimsy a Christmas tree brings to the house. 

 

And yes. SOME of the Christmas cheer spilled out into the yard.

 

But just clear lights on the house and a tinsel tree on the porch. 

 

Oh and the three light up gift boxes beside Gus.

It all looks very nice, lily. I'm noteven ready for Thanksgiving yet.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do for Christmas this year with the new cat. I know the other two will leave the tree and other things alone, but Jim is still quite young and adventurous.
I'm thinking about leaving the heirloom ornaments packed and having Bunny help me string popcorn and make paper garlands.

We brought up the decorations from the garage yesterday. I would bet one tree would be up by now, except mom wants to buy a new one and hasn't found the right one yet. We are hosting the family Christmas this year, we need to start early. With my dad's travel schedule, we only have Saturdays to have his help

 They sell some very nice painted wooden ornaments that would be safe. There are also some sparkly plastic stars and such that should do in a pinch.

we had a cat that would constantly climb the Christmas tree. But he would get stuck. He'd be halfway up the tree hugging the trunk for dear life and meowing as loud as he could. My dad would have to reach in there and yank him out. My dad hated that cat, this didn't help. Stupid cat would do it at least 3 times a day.

 Oh, it was hilarious. His meows sounded so pitiful. The first time it happened, it took us a good 15 minutes to figure out he was in the tree.

we had another cat that loved to lick the felt tree skirt.  those snowmen have never been the same lol
