When did you last go to the movies?

I need a new topic here.  When was the last time you went to a theater?  I know Czech says there's no theater near her but what about everyone else?  The last movie DH and I saw in the theater was the American Sniper.  Since then our theater has put in a metal detector and they require you to have any and all bags checked by hand when you go through.  I can't even imagine this just to see a movie.  We've stopped going.

We had a 14-theater multiplex near us,

after a shootout between two rival gangs, they put in metal detectors and bag checks.

We stopped going there.

Eventually, it seems, so did everyone else.

They closed about 5 years after the shootout, and the place has now been abandoned for years.

I think the last movie I saw in a theater was probably Star Wars. The first one.

I used to love going to the movies. Now it just seems weird going there and having them wave that stupid wand over and go through your purse. I don't like that. I don't see us going anytime soon.

Well, here's the thing.  There hasn't been any crime there other than the normal teenage stuff.  We don't have big gangs here or anything like that.

DD and I went about a month ago. It was Hocus Pocus. It was part of the PTA movie pass. They show new and older movies every week until the end of December for $8 a person.

True Grit?

I think there was a more recent one but obviously it wasn't very good cause I can't remember the name.

It was about 4 years ago.

I accompanied a friend to see one of the Twilight movies because she did not want to go alone.  I did not follow the series, so I did not know the backstory, but watched it anyway.  That was the last time I went to a theater.  I do not recall the year but it was a few years ago.  I am not a big movie person.  I am considering seeing the new Star Wars movie sometime after it premieres in December, but not sure if I actually will.

It has been a while for me. The last movie I saw in an actual movie theater was World War Z. I can't say I was exactly impressed.

Right? It started with potential but then it just fell apart.

DH and I like to go, but it's hard finding the time. The last movie we saw in the theatre was "Spy," with Melissa McCarthy. We had just lost our oldest dog & I thought we both could use a laugh.

I like going to the movies too, but its hard to get there. When we have a babysitter I usually prefer to go somewhere where we can talk and catch up.

We took the boys to see the Minions movie a month or so ago. I usually take them to see the latest kids' movie. They want to see Peanuts movie soon. DH & I haven't been alone to the movies since I was pregnant in 2008. We saw Sex and the City. He was the only man in the audience.

It's been years.

The first Transformers movie, maybe? confuse

I'm not even sure. I can't stand going to the movies anymore.

I'd rather watch them at home.

Burnt last weekend. It was ok

I loved the movie theater. It was largely empty. We picked out seats on the chart and they were wonderful. soft, as big as first class airline seats, slightly recline You can put the divider up to snuggle.

Did not snuggle with my neighbor, but you could.

Exactly that!

Most movies build up to the end. World War Z built (or dug, if you prefer) down from the beginning. And not in a good way.

The theater  I went to has those seats too! Also a tray you can put your food  in. No kids allowed  in that part of the theater. They will bring you food.

Ya'll have fancy theaters. We now have to submit to a full body cavity search to see a movie!

DH went to see that last week with a friend.  He said it sucked, he was very disappointed.
