Good morning! Department head kept telling me good morning even after I responded. Apparently I wasn't cheerful enough. I felt like saying my tone was better than saying eff off.
Dried out sinuses. Woke up with a headache. Yay me.
IKWTDS, what's going on? What have I missed?
Hopen everyone has a good day.

Guess who had a panic attack driving in the dark & the rain? I got off the interstate, took city streets the rest of the way & was only 10 minutes late.

Driving in the rain is scary enough. Glad you are ok.

It's the other idiot drivers, darting here & there...
Wow, flan, glad you are home! So sorry you had a panic attack.
Looks like several of us need a better day. Come on Tuesday, you can do it!
Stormed here most of last night. The lightening and thunder rocked the house several times. It's mid November! Glad the inch of rain didn't come as snow. Oh, wait...that's coming tonight.
Cleaned my house!!! Well, vacuumed and whipped down the bathrooms. Little boys and bathrooms, enough said.
And, I got to sleep in this morning!!
I'm a happy camper today. :)
DD is MUCH better today, I am so thankful!

Oh I understand, we had at least 17 teenage boys stay at our house this weekend. My husband was a saint and cleaned the basement and bathroom they used for me. So glad your DD is doing better, I know that makes you feel a lot better.
Sorry about your panic attack flan, that sounds scary. I hope the rest of your day goes well.
I got my grocery shopping done this morning, while I was there a little girl about DD1's age climbed out of the seat and fell onto the tile. Hearing that crack is just sickening. Then she threw up. The grandma didn't seem like she was going to take her in to the doctor and kept shopping, and I was starting to get really anxious about it. Thankfully, she called the mom who came and got her finally.

Oh my gosh! Throwing up is a sign of head trauma! Hope the little one's mom took her to the doctor! What a morning for you, NAOW.
And, thanks. We are so relieved she is better.

Oh my gosh! no way I could have gone on shopping like that. Throwing up after hitting your head is not a good sign. Poor little girl I hope she is ok.

You got lucky! My DH doesn't have a clue on how to clean a bathroom. I can about imagine what your bathroom and basement looked like afterwards with all those teenagers. Shocking..

Believe me it was.... We will do it again next year. Almost all of them told me thank you for all the food and hospitality. They all had fun doing activities at our Church and concerts. We did leave the basement door open for a little while to air the basement out.

My boys have been cleaning their own bathroom since they were about 9.
Yes, they needed supervision and guidance for a while.
But they learned quickly and do really good job.

I know, same here. I couldn't believe it. She was all, 'oh you'll be alright', until the girl threw up and then was like, 'I guess we better give your mom a call' like no big deal but she took forever to do it. We kept passing by them through the aisles, and I think the mom might have told her how serious it could be because after she talked to her she seemed more shaken up about it and was apologizing to the baby.
In "What would you do?" fashion, what would you do in that situation if she never called, kept shopping and didn't show any indication that she was going to get this girl medical attention?
I had already told her that throwing up after hitting your head is not a good sign and she should get her to the doctor, so would there be anything else you could do? I'm asking because I was trying to decide what to do the whole time she kept shopping with the girl and was really worried about it. Thankfully she got taken care of, but if not, what would have happened?
I think I would have mentioned it to someone important at the store. All you have to do is tell a store manager that a child hit their head and is showing signs of head trauma and just watch how fast they call 911. They don't want the liability.

That is a hard question. The only thing I can think to do since you already informed her throwing up is not a good sign is to notify the manager to have him/her talked to her. It is a good thing her mom was called and took action.

Just as others have said, I would have talked to the manager and voiced concerns.

So is mine! I'm taking a break from hand repairing a queen sized quilt. Sitting on the floor is not a good thing for my back.
The only reason I'm not throwing it out is that it is oldest DGS's favorite quilt. And he asked me to fix it so nicely. I seriously wish he hadn't asked.

I might have called 9-1-1 myself.
The grandma was using magical thinking.
I wouldn't be that trusting of the store personnel, they might go into denial mode, hoping it will just go away.
I had that problem late one night when I found a little boy outside in a snowstorm in his pj's. (pre-cell phones)
I took him into a Pathmark and asked the customer service people to call the police ... they refused.

NAOW, it's the managers job to deal with that stuff. Honest. If someone falls or gets hurt in the store they need to know. That family can always come back and sue and say they got no help or whatever. I don't think the manager would get upset in the least for being notified. That way he would be on top of it JIC.

So, Carlee ended up having two seizures yesterday. She's had four in an eight day period. They're started to come more often. DH took her Thursday for some blood tests. We have talked at length and if the blood tests don't show anything I think we're at the point that we are going to put her on medicine. Today she is acting very funny. She hates storms so it's so hard to tell if it's the storms or if she's getting ready to have a seizure. She ate some grass and then threw up. She's been hunting for things to eat. We need to go out but we're waiting until DS gets home so someone will be here with her. Frustrating.

I should have done that. I did tell an employee but she just said 'oh no, they should get her to a doctor.'
I think DS1 is coming to Kauai with us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like you all will have fun. I've been to Kauai twice and stayed once at the Princeville Resort and once in a condo. What part of the Island will you be staying at?

But, DUH! I should have found a manager. Thanks.
Eh, don't feel bad. You were just asking what others would do. I guess I wouldn't have done anything since she did eventually call the mom. I probably would have mentioned it to a cashier when checking out though. Maybe saying she needed to let a manager know. If the grandma hadn't called I probably would have talked to the manager. That's just me though. I don't like to directly confront people and make it feel like I'm challenging their ability to parent. A manager though can approach it in a store safety type way.
